Soup Bowl is a good place for lunch -

Its nice to see all the 'Rubicon Rest Stops' - they werent there the last time I ran the trail -

Just before the top of the slabs - usually one of my favorite parts of the trail, because you can see everything. All socked in due to the weather this time though -

Sleeping wives seemed to be a common theme on this trip -

Buck Island Lake is a great place to be a kid -

We went on a hike in search of Rockbound Lake, but one of Max's dogs decided to try her hand at swimming again, and once again wasnt any better at it than she was the last time. So Max went on a rescue swim. I got him for a family photo before they turned back to camp so he could put on some dry undies -

Mike, Katie, Phil and I continued on.

So much for the waterfalls -

Usually, if you're standing where Mike and Katie are, you're in a very athletic position, trying not to fall and slip to your death as the water pushes you over -

At that point, my camera pretty much gave up the ghost. I still need to look into that.

Max is interested to know if anyone got a shot of him almost rearranging the passenger side sheetmetal on his wife's daily drvier in Big Sluice where he was too far left, and almost dumped it into the tree / on its side.

Spotted about 15' off the trail between Rockbound Lake and Buck Island Lake on the post-Sierra Fest Rubicon run (it was the 2nd bear we saw that morning; the first one at Rubicon Reservoir was even bigger):

looks like we had better weather than you guys. we did have some rain on monday. I was going to attempt soup bowl, but as soon as I got my front tires on it started to rain and hail, we took it as a sign and moved on.

here are the highlights. we had almost no issues, my engine fan ate a trans cooler line in little sluice
