Sierra Chapter Deer Valley Run - June 26 - June 28

One thing I haven not mentioned is a "trail photographer". Does anyone have a friend, wife or girlfriend coming along that wouldn't mind snapping shots of everyone? With a group this large it would be a shame to not get photo's of most everyone :yelclap:

3 MORE DAYS!!!!!!

I will have my mom coming. I'm sure she won't mind taking some pics. As long as there isn't 40 cameras LOL. Should be no problem.

Quick question. I heard some talk about hermit valley where you all are staying. Are you all going to be taking the deer valley run starting from there or from blue lakes entrance on Saturday morning? I'm confused. I was planning on taking strawberry trail to deer valley, but I will probebly just take 89 to kirkwood route to blue lakes/deer valley entrance point. But if you all are starting from hwy 4 part then I guess I will have to go the other way. Can't wait to see you all there. Bringing brother and mother with a friend hope you all don't mind. We will bring some extra food too and some trashbags take care of some trail maint. Too. Ok see you all at 9am on Saturday thanks

Rick

Are the guys in the south bay taking 108 out of Manteca to 49, or are you going to 4 out of Stockton?

If only all the members of this forum had the insight to understand why a question was asked, instead of speculating the question asked was foolish. :kissyou:

Look up at the last few posts and you would see I am attempting to caravan with other travelers. However, they are all Southbay guys. None have responded to my request to travel with a pack. I assumed they may be taking another route, or maybe they don't like the way I drive.

Anyway, if any of the Southbay group is heading out friday morning and will be following Xjensen's directions, would you be willing to meet up in Stockton at the Mc Donalds on Charter?

If only this chapter had a guy that made a web site about all the trails he goes on and did a write up from last years Dear Vally NAXJA run. It would be cool if it had maps, photos and directions. And if he was really smart he would put the URL in his sig line. And he would post in this thread.

Sorry to get you so bent, but I was not talking to just you.

No problem, hence the smilie. The map was to clarify the proposed meeting place.

And definitely props goes out to Xjensen for his hard work on the trail maps. I have used them more than once.

p.s. Happy birthday Letterman.

I am out. I still have CO plates that expired August 2008. I couldn't get into the DMV so no go on this one. Hopefully I am the only one to stay home this weekend. Have fun and pour some liquor out for those that couldn't attend.:banghead:

From XJensens map on page one of this thread:
From Highway 4 - Southern Access (Stockton - 104 Miles)
- Head East on Highway 4 (45.6 Miles)
- Turn right onto Highway 49 / 4 (1.5 Miles)
- Turn left to stay on Highway 4 (57.3 Miles)
- Hermit Camp is nine miles East of Lake Alpine general store

GPS coordinates from the same: Trial Access (South) 38° 32' 20.5" N 119° 53' 48.3" W

See you there!

List of things to do:
Figure out and fix the power steering leak
Take off gas tank skid off of my Jeep and install it on my Dads Jeep.
Put on "new" D30 diff cover
Pack
Drive there

Hopefully I can get it all done.

My Dad and I will be in this. We will hopefully get up there around 5pm tomorrow. Wave if you see us!
