Do you guys ever look back at your Jeep as you walk into the store. Ever pull into the driveway in the family sedan and smile as your Jeep meets your eye? I have this habit, every time I pull in the drive with my wife in her car, I say "Thats a nice looking Jeep right there, who's the lucky guy?" My wife just rolls her eyes at me in silence.

Last night, I followed this same routine, and for some reason, questioned her silence. After a moment, I said, "Seriously though, that thing has come a long way, don't you think?"

She says, "Honestly, I think it's UGLY."

WHAT???? Ugly???

As I'm working on my OBA setup today, I am thinking about this. I guess that's what it means. That is why people have those stickers. "It's a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand" I guess she just doesn't get it. Then I start thinking, maybe it is ugly.

I thought, "Who better to decide than you folks?"

She's not worthy!!! Have you taken her 'wheelin'? Maybe she's one of "those" women who don't like to get her nails dirty... hmmmm...:confused1

A friend who is female came over and commented about my new project with. Why you get that thing it's ugly. I said well it needs some love but it'll look great by the end of the month. She just said humph.

Truck looks great put a brush gaurd on it and rock rails

My Girlfriend loves the jeep I guess I'm lucky.

Why ask us? We're too biased to give you an honest opinion. Its ugly.

I know, that's why I wanted to ask you guys. LOL. Thanks for the comments, I'll tell her she's wrong. I am planning on building some rock rails soon, they will double as air tanks for my OBA. I also have an idea for a brush guard, but more like a prerunner hoop or whatever.

She enjoys wheelin around in the snow and sand, but she says the roof rack is ugly. She has no problem riding in it, but WILL NOT drive it. Her loss I guess.

Here is a pic of it the day I picked it up. It had a 2.8l and no trans/transfer case. D35 and disco d30. Now it has a 4.0 HO and a non disco d30, 27 spline 8.25, plus what you can see in the pics. I think it's safe to say it has come a long way. Not done yet though, I don't think it will ever be done.

Your little girls say "bad ass jeep"?? How little? If I would have said that when I was young, I would have a mouthful of Dawn dishsoap. Yuck.

Maybe it's because I built the rack and mounts myself, and when I was welding it together the last two or three "supports" on the drivers side shifted and aren't square?:dunno:
I doubt I will be losing the rack though, I have too much time invested in it, and I really like how it looks. I will be mounting my HI-LIft up there, and a shovel on the other side.

my girls are 8 & 10, and yes they say bad ass jeep! i guess after hearing me say it everytime i pull in and out of the driveway......and well, if it's refering to a jeep, i let it slide. does that make me a bad parent ? or a cool dad with a badass jeep ?

i didn't mean ditch the rack. just that, that's whats jumping out at me.

Sometimes I say, "Check out da Sweet ass Jeep!" Sometimes my wife says, "Nice Jeep, Who bought that for you?" Your Jeep isn't ugly. When you put that much work into a vehicle it can be like an ugly child, it's beautiful to you.

No lie, it's hideous. You armor-alled your tires, washed and waxed it. Ewww. You don't even have a tree-dent! :) If you're worried about how it looks, get it painted. The only downfall is the off white with black and chrome. Not the best color scheme combo.

It's the rack. It doesn't have to go but it needs to be offset some how. Larger lights in front of it? I would drop those small rectangles down to the front bumper and replace them with something larger & covered. Or move two down front and put one on each side...
+ I agree with Rod...It needs stickers. :jester:

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Actually, I didn't wax it, or armor all the tires. I did wash it, and the tires are still wet in the picture.:moon: The paint is faded, not shiny at all, especially on the hood. I am planning on painting it myself. I am thinking a red metallic. Like I say, it will never be finished, just trying to do one thing at a time, and prioritize. I am thinking about painting or powder coating the rack black. I also have decided those lights have to go. They don't fit the rack very good, and don't put out enough light to make me happy.

Thanks for all the comments guys. My wife thinks I am going to sell it and buy a used Tacoma, but I am starting to think I will never be able to let this one go.
