whats everyone running for a shackle with their deaver leafs? i'm debating throwing together (or buying) shackle relocation brackets, but i'm concerned about the extra lift.. i don't want to be much taller than the deavers will put me already.

my reloaction brackets are nice. but departure angle sucks nut with a 1.5" shackle.

probably gonna make a shorter shackle and add a leaf to my pack

yea the dept angle is a concern as well, but my biggest is the spring's range of motion, i wanna make sure they work as well as possible. i figure theyre made for cherokees, stock location and shackle should work fine.

I have some dimple died boomerang shackles for sale, they were set up with my deavers.

I honestly have my doubts about these holding up under the type of abuse we put them through...

I have had sliders (those actual ones in that picture are mine) for over a year now paired with Deavers.

Theyve been run ruthlessly in the JV desert over whoops for a couple weeks total between 2011 and now 2012, and on the east coast during between that time in all sorts of varied use. Nothing has gone wrong with them from a functionality standpoint, and the sliding function and UHMW has lasted just fine.

i've seen how they work on rigs that run them. for what they are, they're a great product. i went with a set of tried and true RE boomerangs.

your ass squats anyway. make some relocation brackets. or magically lower your front end.

rocks hit them, but metal is good at sliding off shit. only sucks when i need to back up and there is a ledge there staring my shackle down.

i run the LII sliders as well. no problems. alot more stable than a shackle IMO.

LII posted somewhere that the first sliders they made are still on the same UHMW pads for the past 4 or 5 years. and if by some chance you do need replacements, they are only $2 each.

We're running shackle relocation brackets + a 7" long shackle with deaver leafs on the KOH car.

I have never been amazed by leaf springs before this setup. I will tell you that before this combination, we couldnt get more than 8 or 9 inches of travel out of our Deavers, but now we're pushing 11" shocks with a LOT of travel left to spare, maybe 12-12.5 at the wheels. When I free up some funds I'll probably pickup some 13" travel shocks for the rear and see what we can get out of them..

I was surprised that we needed that much extra in the rear to level the rear out with the front. We have Deavers front and rear. Evidently the height of the spring perches on the new D44 front axle are high enough to make a big difference, though it only looks like they're an inch higher.

I have the same issue on my jeep, might pick up a set or build some shackle boxes like you guys did.

I cannot say enough good things about the HD Offroad boxes. They fit really well, are amply beefy and did exactly what we needed them to.

We only gained a little lift from them (3/4?) so also used a longer shackle - but they did HUGE things for our wheel travel.

We had to adjust our pinion angle quite a bit after installing them.
