Howdy my fellow Colorado XJers!
Sorry not to have posted anything in awhile. Work is super busy and my girlfriend and I have been doing a lot of jeeping out of the area. Utah mainly, but some wester Colorado trails.
This is but a simple trail note.
Scoffield and Pearl Passes are still impassable due to snow. Only made it to the second shelf at Pearl from the eastern side before running into a huge snow bank. Scoffield/Devil's Punchbowl is the same. Huge avalanches covered the road over the winter, and it's slow to melt. Hopefully, the recent incredible heat will melt them soon and we can go over to Crested Butte for some ribs at the Idle Spur.
As a note, Italian Creek/Cement Creek are open with some sweet mud bogs to play in. Most of the easy/moderate trails are open and the higher, northern facing slopes still have snow.
I'll keep ya posted on Pearl and Scoffield. C'ya on the trail.
