sams 95 xj thread

so the jeep has a big overheating issue. changed the water pump about a year ago, also changed the heater control valve, recently did some wiring to a switch so the e-fan will go on when i want. i have a thermostat(not yet installed), but since the hose coming off the stat is hot then that probably not the problem right?? both fans spin and at a normal rate so no sure on the fan clutch.
thinking it may be a radiator...if so is there anything "better" or after market you guys would suggest?
you know how it goes upgrade anything that brakes, right?

Going on what Rev said, I believe the correct t-stat is a 210*F. Maybe its a 195*.....either way make sure its a quality stat cause I've had issues with cheapies sticking both open and closed in the past. I put in a 180* in the summer and the 210* or 195* in the winter. That way I also keep tabs on the condition and level of the coolant.

No reason to swap them for the season. I keep a 195 in year around, the only time I have ever had overheat issues is due to plugging in the radiator....after 150K miles.
