That floor is pretty knarley!!!(spelling??) It makes me kind of nervous to see what mine looks like if I were to pull mine up. Who knows if i pull mine up I just might have the luck to find a girl under there too!

it looks realy bad but the "frame" and the cross mount for the seat is in good shape

well with winterfest came a new found love for a jeep that was cast away as just a plain jane daily driver. my girl has been driving this heep for the past year to work and back. a combination of wheeling this past weekend and finding out shes is getting her old car back and put me back in the mindset of lifting this thing again.

never did get the floors fix correctly but it is still a strong truck. survived 2 winterfest so far. so while there i grabbed a shackle kit from josh and plan to put that on soon. now im looking at a rough country 3.5 lift and maybe stealing the tires off my durango until i can afford some ....boggers maybe i dont know we will see.

Keep it coming, Sam! Hope you like that lift.

I did, good stuff!

so i may be digging into my other jeep this weekend. hopefully anyway. i maybe doing some swapping of 2 crappy jeeps in hopes to make one decent one. the rust in mine is just so bad i couldn't imagine doing much to it. hopefully the rust in this other one i have will not be so far gone.

ill check back in monday and let you all know how that turned out. maybe some pics:greensmok

So im starting to think lift options, i am wanting to go with about a 33in tire. So who can help we head that way in the cheapest and easiest way?lol

I have already bought the shackle kit from josh(not installed yet) and im under the impression that it can be added with a 3in kit to make for around 5 inches, correct?
I also have rear leafs in pretty bad shape so weather they be oem or a/m kit i think i will need new ones.

So i am thinking this is a good route to go with from rough country

Jeep XJ 6" Front Adjustable Track Bar 99.95
Jeep XJ Front Lower X-Flex Control Arms 179.95
84-02 Jeep XJ Cherokee 3" Suspension System
534.95
TOTAL 814.85
how dose that look? would there be anything else i need? sye on a 95?

or should i piece stuff together? would it be cheaper to buy different parts to get it up to that 5in mark?

would this kit be any better?

the HDoffroad shackle relocation? Yeah it will give a little lift, coupled with a longer shackle you'd probably get 2".

Since you're wanting to do this on the cheap, considered bastard packs? Not any more expensive than an AAL at the junkyard and works much better and is more durable. I'm making one in the back of the MJ with my left over Mj leafs and the XJ springs. Then you only have to buy hard parts for the front. If you're willing to wait I'm sure that the MWC can find some used springs and whatnot.

I got drive line vibes on my 95 with the Rusty's 3.5" packs in the back. A SYE would be necessary for 5" of lift. Also, you'll want some lower control arm drop brackets for that much lift if you're not planning on running long arms. And don't forget your brake lines. They get pretty tight in the rear at 3" of lift. I have a Rusty's 6" lift brake line in the rear. Overkill for now, but will work great with my shackle relocation brackets and u-bolt eliminators that will be putting me around 5.5"...

drop that down 2 inches so you can use shortarms and it will make everything much cheaper. Those 2 inches more cost a lot.

You've not got anything in there for steering. At 5 inches your steering will hate life but you can make it work, I did for a few years, but not as a daily driver.

How pretty do you want it? You can fit 33's on 3 inches if you're willing to cut it up and save yourself a lot of money. Let Brian have a few drinks and a go at it with a sawzall.

Extended brake lines can be done a lot cheaper if you just make new metal hardlines. It's 16 years old, so if they're rusty you might as well do them anyway.

hahahah pretty? yea right...have you seen the pics yet.
the plan is to throw the 2in and 3 on together and see how it sits. i have a feeling that it will not sit 5 in high or at least after a while. i have no problem cutting, but ima wait on that cuz i don't have money for new tires just yet. and no this is not a daily driver anymore. not a trailer queen but not driven daily.
i ordered the rough country 3in add a leaf. should be waiting for me at work Tuesday. but i do not yet know when it will be on. hopefully this month

Do i want lower control arms, or lower control arm drop brackets? whats the difference. im looking at rough contrys web site and the drop brackets are $190 and the arm it self is 180. or am i supposed to get both?

what would my options be for brake lines? rew said something about 99 Dakota lines for the rear, what about up front?

The drop bracket is a mount that is lower for a straighter arm angle, pretty much returning it to the stock (like) position

the arms will be longer than the stock ones, not to mention stronger. when you lift it up the axle gets pulled back a little the longer arms will put it were it is supposed to be

ideally you need both
