Safest way to carry lots of....

CASH

I sold my truck at school and buying another truck back at home (120miles away). The guy looked shady so I made him pay me in cash. How would you carry thousands of dollars in 100 dollar bills. I wouldn't be too worried but I think I might need to take the train. I dont know if all that money will fit in my wallet and I dont want to out it in my book bag cuz it could walk away if im not looking. Thanks for the help!

Go to walmart and buy a small safe or lockbox and keep the fact that you have thousands of dollars a secret. Now we all know you have it.

If I had to travel with it, I would consider a money order or cashier's check, depending on the amount. Exact details aren't needed, but are you talking a few thousand, or a lot more than that? A few thousand in 100s isn't much at all- I'd shove it in a pocket.

Safest way to carry lots of cash...with a gun on your hip?
Oh wait...you're in IL. Sorry for the useless info. Step 1: Move to a state that issues carry permits. Step 2: Put a gun on your hip.

Its a couple few. I kinda wanna keep it cash so I can just go and pay for my new truck right away. I need to just catch a ride with a friend and not worry about it.

Put it in your bank account. Remove it from another branch.

Or just open a bank account at say Bank of America (just make sure you have branches in both locations). Then Remove cash when you get home.

Then you'll have to wait about 3 days normally.

just paint your face stark white and staple the money to your forehead..that alone would make people think you were nuts and not even come close to you..and if they did, gig them with your toothbrush shank you made in prison.

Shove it in your pocket and don't tell anyone its there

if you give me the exact rout your taking, and vehicle your in i will make sure your money is safe...........................:D

I'll be in Mt Vernon on friday night for meetings, make it that far and I can give you a ride the rest of the way home. Your money should be safe, as long as we dont hit the bars before we head for home.

Scratch that, there will be an open bar that night, wear something nice and I will say you are one of our business associates so you can get some free booze.

Dozer don't go into a good strip club or you will lose all your $$$! :roflmao:

Do this! Travis is good people. He will make sure everything goes smooth...and he's offering free booze. Win.

I've carried $2500 through central Worcester before. Before going to sell the truck, go by a bank and ask for a money envelope or three. When he pays you, split it into 1/4" or so thick packs of bills and put them in the inside pockets of a heavy coat. Won't even be noticeable.

While carrying that kind of money it pays to be alert though - walk upright, do not shuffle, walk with PURPOSE, be aware of your surroundings, let your arms swing by your sides instead of crossing them. This attitude alone will generally keep you from being a target; muggers aim for the shuffling, huddled up people looking a few steps ahead of them who are well dressed, not the alert people walking like they own the place.

Don't have your head on a swivel obviously or you look real suspicious, just don't keep looking straight ahead or even worse straight down.

I can be in Mt. Vernon in 45 min...................I'm just sayn'........

I have never heard of waiting for cash in an account, even a brand new one. If it was checks, different story.

Could you wire the money to yourself? It will have a fee, but then you are not traveling with it.

Sue

Yeah I just thought about that for a second, you're right Sue!
