This trip is still on. June 1st weekend......the 2nd and 3rd. I'll be there Fri morning, camping on the beach.

Hope this doesn't happen

Thats a bent D30 from a day after Pismo, no jumping involved.

ouchy.... i didn plenty of jumping at the dunes back in the day with the 30. i never bent a tube just broke and bent many lower arms and mounts

The funny thing is he didn't even notice till I told him as we were going to air up! :eyes:

Yep, no binding or other indications to show that something was messed up while driving, but when on the pavement is was pretty much obvious that it was bent. I have a replacement D30 that I will work on getting in next week but I have to reuse my gears from my old D30 so hopefully everything goes smooth and the jeep is able to be back on the road after that week. Maybe the jeep will see a return run to the dunes but the D30 didn't like it last time and the old 2.5L didn't really like it much either.

did they happen to say if there were any res. for that day already?

This run is still on, June 2-3. I'll be there Fri about midday, camping on the beach with my pickup and camper. We'll put some multi colored flags out to mark our camp, I'll post up later what color flags so you know what to look for. I'll have the yellow XJ there.

That weekend is now my brothers bachelor party. I will try to make it there for the third, if anyone will still be around in the afternoon.

ill try to be there all day long all the days. i live about 40 mins away on the freeway so im just gonna cruise home to comfort at night and then head back in the morning. or if i start drinking and get to wasted and pass out there. decisions...

Hmm this sounds fun!

I am def. considering this, was there last year in the jeep, and it'd be fun to go again.

Is there any plans of a caravan going down that way (for the BA people)? Anyone else planning on bringing dogs, or anyone super afraid of dogs, I plan on bringing mine, but he's super tame despite being an Akita...

Personally I'm going more for just the camping atmosphere, but wheeling is always a nice plus! Who knows maybe i'll con my dad into going if he's not going on another run.

I like dogs...never had Akita though, bet its tasty. :D

So a couple of n00b questions about the Pismo run.

Is it a family friendly atmosphere, i.e. are wives and kids OK to bring along?
What are the sites and facilities (restrooms) like (nevermind if it's a no to the above, I'll find someplace)?
What would I need to have in/on my rig?
