Rubicon reminder, July 14-15

We are a pretty mild crowd so no worries there. Thanks for the heads up though!! And from the sounds of it, there are a few A holes cruising the Con. I've heard a lot of talk lately about how bad it's gotten. I can't believe I am saying this, but maybe the law enforcement element on the trail is a good thing. Keep people from ruining the experience for others and getting stuff shut down. It's a shame what I saw at Easter Jeep Safari in Moab a couple of years ago. Spring breakers took over sand flats and just drove over everything in sight and then proceeded to shoot guns at all hours of the night. Makes all 4 wheelers look bad even though only a handful do it. That's one reason I really enjoy the NAXJA group. From what I have seen, everyone is very conscientious and goes to great lengths to educate others and make sure things are always "as they should be" on the trail. After all, perception is reality (a quote from my boss!). OK, that's all from me... Man, this trip is sneaking up on me.. My Jeep still is not ready. It will be though, guaranteed!

OMG, am I going to have to be "sick" on Monday and Tuesday?

CRASH

I'll have to run it by the "boss" and see what she sayz. I'm sure she is going to be really bummed that she can't go herself.

She likes nothing better than hanging about while Rubicon newbies get their cherries popped.

CRASH

LOL, don't I know it! I like having her around, layin' the smack down! :D
It just isn't the same without her.

Jes

Don't I know it. I'll bring the bladder of cheap wine and we can inflate it and paste her picture on it.......it'll make us feel better, and after the first couple of pitchers, we won't even know the difference!

CRASH

Don't worry sweetie, we love you, and you could never be replaced with an inflatable facsimile.

CRASH

You guys are to funny.

Nope, we are still coming and even looking forward to it still. I just installed the Lock Right a couple of days ago so it's time to see how it works.

We'll see if I can make it or not, depends on the condition of my junk, really.

CRASH

I wish it was that simple, work is doing it's best to bring me into the office that day.

I need to quit my job and go wheeling full time!

CRASH

Everything is finally painted and installed. Roof rack, rockrails, front bumper, etc. I had Dave G drill the 3/4" shackle holes.... he's a pro too. Dang drill bit was $23  Him and his friend came over and helped me throw my crap on. Was a lifesaver too!! I am ready to wheel.. Anyhow, I am pulling out Thursday morning and will be in Tahoe a few days then Loon Lake Saturday and Sunday night, camp spot 015. Guess if we don't see everybody at loon Lake, we will just plan on meeting at the staging area Monday morning?? Jes, you still our leader? You camping at Loon Lake? What's a good time to be on the trail by if we are gonna go in to Buck Lake?

If we can get a 6am start out of here on Monday, we can meet you guys by 8am at the Loon Lake spillway (trailhead).

I think I'll go in for the day, maybe wheel in to Spider and come back out. Work beckons on Tuesday morning.......
