I don't see why you need longarms to get rid of deathwobble, sounds like that's just bad balljoints. I had 5.5" of lift with shortarms and it didn't ride real smooth, but it didn't have deathwobble and wasn't dangerous.
yeah i dont NEED long arms but i know i will regret it if i dont get them cause if im gonna spend a bunch of money on new uppers and new lowers its not gonna be all that much cheaper than if i just bought a long arm kit. ex: $400 3- link long arm just as much as new uppers and lowers... about.
ohh and im runnin stock uppers and 4.5" lift fixed lowers and im sittin at about 6" right now. ill get new ball joints too. i just need arms that are going to push my axle forward more and create a better pinion angle cause i dont want to shim my ball joints.
I have a few friends going in Friday night, good people that know the trail. Scrappy and others that can't make the 11am leave time and are going in that night, if you want to hook up with them shoot me a PM.
So I have got good news and bad new Phil.
Good news is I may have figured out a way to make the wrangler wheelable. Bad news is that I am thiiiiiss close to not making it. If I can make it, i am still doing the late night run.

why is the wrangler not wheelable...didnt you get it so you have one reliable car???
but i cant wait for this, im just have to get the slider on and wait for the front diff guard to get here... ill be there for the 11a.m. start up...anyone else leaving near walnut creek that wants to convoy up??
I have been working on it like crazy. Lifted it and a bunch of other things. But with the lack of a job, my money became tight for the jeep funds. So the only thing I did not get to finish was the flat belly with the auto pan skid. I WILL not wheel it without those skids cuz I cant afford a new trans. I think I may have figured out a way to get it done in time. Even if I finish it though, having the extra dough to drive up is questionable lol. But the sierrafest is looking better.
The counsellor that was to take my place so that I could leave early bailed on me, and there's no one to take his place.
In addition, my tranny sounds like a cat got stuck in it and feels like it's going to let go at any minute. The sounds come and go, but something is not right under there. Up until this point, the battle wagon was ready to roll. I took off all the doors and glass, and everything seemed to be working alright after the roll.
My weekend has free'd up and I already had friday off... so there is no reason for me not to go now... As long as my POS is in good working order (i just got the head bolted back on).
Ill figure out where to hook up with you guys as time gets closer... Ill be coming from Grass Valley.

Well I am going for sure. Got my trans skid plate all welded up and on, exhaust modified, oil changed, spare stub shafts and spare steering all got put together in time. Even got some awsome tires put on, but your all going to have to wait to see these beasts.
Phil, I need to know what the plan is as far as camping spots. Where are you going to Friday to camp? What is the plan saturday? Where you camping saturday?
It looks like me and a few friends will be meeting in Placerville around 10 friday night. Depending on where you are camping, we may camp at the trail head then catch up in the morning.
i thought i already posted up when im leaving but i guess i didnt... im hopiong to leave around 6 a.m. form my house causeit takes me around 4 hours to make it up to the spillway at loon lake... if you guys wanna convoy let me know where you wanna meet up in the morning and ill see if can get there
since 3.07s only came with manual trannies, that only makes your gearing WORSE. My first time on Fordyce I had a manual, 3.55s, open diffs and 33s. It was ugly. Don't.
