Rough Country

ROUGH COUNTRY'S SERVICE RULES!!!!! When i got my lift i was short two ubolts. Not that big of a deal i just was planning on installing my lift this weekend so i needed them asap. That was no prob for Rough Country. I contacted Jason (Grimus99xj) on naxja told him what was up and he gave me his # to call and he had my ubolts on the way in 10 minutes. Thats what i call service. I plan on doing bussiness with Rough Country in the future. Good Job Guys!

also instead of changing the our current trac bar we are going to offer a x-series trac bar with a heavy duty bar, diffrent bend and hiems joint

can't wait to get my hands on that one and see how it holds up.

my wife is also wondering if you guys are coming out with any new designs on the quick disconnects. the ones that came with her lift worked ok (as i mentioned previously. the disconnects are cheap but a great start), but the holes wallowed out and now make loud clicking noises every time you go over bumps driving down the road. so she is thinking about getting some new ones (different brand) unless you guys have something in the works.

Lift just came in yesterday.....a day early! Great service, great advice, and great prices on my son's lift...now we just have to carve out some time to put it on and add his new soft 8's and 31's! Thanks, Jason! We'll keep you posted.

PornstaR sent me the note on the lift...The zerks didn't even make it through installation. I used a rubber mallet to the LCAs in place...both zerk were trashed. Other than getting the LCAs in (and locating a coil compressor from AutoZone) the installation went well. Also helped I installed an RC on the YJ I used to own.

2 cents on RC...customer service has been excellent everytime I've spoken to them. Only issue I've had is the instructions aren't always the best (pictures referenced but missing). As for track bars...I can't weigh in yet. I have one on the way (wish I knew about the 10% first!). I was happy with the YJ lift and expect to be the with this 4.5" lift.

as i posted before, i went off a 2' drop sideways, did not hurt one part of my front end.. i bent the rim but the track bar is still right on, oh the shock got it too

we are looking at the zerk placement and as far as the link goes it sounds like a thick powder coating if I am understanding you correctly but let me know

If you would like I could send you pics when I relocate mine (zerks). Then it would kinda make it easier to just move them then having to R&D the new placement since I drive like a retard and most things I do are more than "standard" driving. LOL

As for the links, yes the powder coating was thick but even after removal of all of it on the inside, bushings still had to be taken down smaller to fit. I never grabbed my calipers to check sizes but Im thinking it may be heat from the welds or bad size on the tube used. Just thought I would let ya know for QC.

BLUE- Glad you got your lift on. I did forget to mention that you can get those springs out without a spring compressor but too late now..... ah you got it all done!!! PM me how you like it and the ride.

Grimus99xj,Got the decales in yesterday.NICE.My kids love them. They happen to be 27 and 24 years old.If I get a chance this weekend,I will email a picture to you.My back windows are Tinted. With the siver decales,it matches the 4x4 one on the sides.

Forgot,my son and son-n-law want to get behine the wheel of my new toy, that ain't going to happen anytime soon!

you can send them to [email protected]

Just a tip if anyone needs it. if you have a problem getting a bushing in sometimes you can put a little rubbing alcohol on it and they slide right in. weird i know but it works.

Well I have been looking at lifts for the past 2-3 months.
Debating on which one's, how high...
But after many long nights of debating just exactly what I want to do in it I decided to go ahead and start with a 6.5 and eat the $ up front instead of buying small and having to constantly upgrade both lift and tires.

I was never really even considering anything by Rusty's as I have heard too many bad stories about them, and was leaning to a major manufacturer. RC, fab tec ect...

This thread with someone from a company coming in and asking how there products do, and how they could be improved, and even admitting to there parts short comings influenced my decision greatly.

So when I actually get a decent paying ob I will certainly be buying one of your kits, I also hope to run into you on one of those trails in NE Tenn as I plan on moving to Cookville/Livingston area if for nothing else the great off road!

(90xj 3" RC AAL)
having to replace front shocks less then 7 months after installing them is really annoying.....
i would have gladly paid $50 more for working shocks...... you should give people the option of buying shocks that work

instead of complaining to us, why not ask the company 1st? We know the customer service of RC and it's awesome, I don't think you read this whole thread or else you would have contacted them...

you shouldnt have to contact a company months after purchase to get a decent product

im not wasting my time, im replacing with better parts

Good Job! Let me find you a cookie!
If you an issue with a item, take it up with the company.

actually they do offer a couple shock options. did you even ask them when you were buying your kit??? probably not.

just incase you didn't notice. the guy 2 posts above yours (grimus99XJ) is a rough country rep. maybe if you try being polite he'll help you out like he has with most people on here.

also 7months is a long time after installing a kit for shocks to go bad. maybe they were bad shocks, or maybe you ruined them with your driving style or other modifications to your jeep.
Do you honestly think that if you go with as you say "better parts", that there is a guarantee that they won't fail either??? i mean after all if you look on this forum, there are people that have had bad experiences with ALL MANUFACTURERS.

you definitely need an attitude adjustment and then try contacting rough country. but sitting here and acting all tough and pissed about a company in a thread in which the company has done nothing but support it's customers doesn't win you any brownie points.

There always has to be a WE TODD DID person.
XCM - you should have at least pm'ed him to see if he could help you in any way before bashing on them. Just a thought.

Dind Ding DIng we have a winner

Anytime that anyone including myself has an issue with any product the first thing to do is to contact the vendor or manufactuer to resolve the issue at hand, now if that does not work then it is open season and time to bash and verbally destroy that company if that is what makes you happy.

One thing I have learned is there alot of "HATERS" in this industry that have never use a certain brand but just want to " bash on the band wagon " .

Now to address the situation at hand
XCM, if you have a problem with Rough Country shocks than please feel free to contact me via phone, pm or email it doesnt make a diffrence but if you are just stating that our shocks are bad because you read that some where then I ask please tell me who makes better shocks that are comparable to ours, oh yea one more thing please read this entire thread before you reply

and to those defending or enjoying Rough Country and our products Thank You
