Check these bad boys out. Not available yet, but will have two models for the lower quarter panels soon: 1/8" tread plate steel with 1/4" countersunk hardware, and 3/16" plate steel with 3/8" countersunk hardware. Will be available for for all XJ's 1984-01, with or without flares and without bumper caps on the 97+ XJ's. Introductory prices will be $79.00/pair for the 1/8" tread plate with all hardware, and $94.00/pair for 3/16" plate with all hardware. Sorry guys, this dang thing didn't even subscribe me to my own thread.
Rich, are you interested in the 1/8" tread plate or the 3/16" plate? I am going to keep the top 3 bolts and the two bottom corner bolts. I like the eight bolt look, as I think it looks pretty tough, but it isn't necessary to have that many bolts.
Ramsey, what year is your XJ, and if it is pre 97, does it have flares? And are you interested in the 3/16 plate or the 1/8" tread plate. Just getting my list together so I can send out updates, and to test the interest on each of the models to see how big of a hurry I need to get on my manufacturer.

its a 99 and 1/8 tread plate. i am flareless now but am contemplating bushwackers so i am not sure if these would work or not. if i decide against the wackers these will definetly take their place.

Well, I my mind again, and I am going to keep all eight bolts per side and leave them at 3/8" instead of 5/16". Found a different hardware place that was being a lot more reasonable on the prices, so I can keep the original price with all eight bolts per side, since I think it looks cool to have them all anyways. I'm going to start production on these in the next week or two, so they should be available by the end of September.

Ramsey, I used to have BW flares on my XJ, and there was just one bolt per side that goes through the area the plate covers. I wouldn't think there would be much of a gap, if any, between the flare and the body from that bolt to the next one up, and it wouldn't be very noticable if there was.

Sorry for the lag time...I am looking at the 3/16 model for my 90 and (so far!) still with the flares. The lift will be going on in 2 weekends, so we'll see what that brings. Glad to see all 8 made the cut!
