Hey guys thought i would start my own thread with some pictures but wanted to wait till i had something worth looking at.

98 cherokee 2wd 113,000 miles ac, pwr windows locks, 4.0l, auto with fresh rebuild.

Bought the jeep with a 4.5 RE lift on it and same wheels for $800. It had been in a slight accident but all that needed to be replaced was a front fender, drag link and a rear center pin on the leaf to get her going. Dumb kid was drunk driving in it and hit a parked car. Anyways didnt tell me much about it but it had a new tranny in it and a locker come to find out.

As it sits now:

Front-
2wd beam with a chrome alloy tube turned down to fit inside and gusseted
RE 5.5 springs
10" fox 2.0 shocks attached to t&j upper shock mounts
2.5" fox 2.0 bump stops in t&j bump cans
plated coil buckets
5.5" bump strike pads on axle
13" polyperformance limit straps
RE hd track bar drop bracket
RE hd track bar
RE track bar stiffener
zj v8 steering... soon to be currie

Rear-
Deaver leafs
shitty shocks out back just temp for now
in the middle of fabbing up the truss
4.56 gears and a no-slip locker

other-
flowmaster exhaust side exit before the rear tire
chopped up stock air box
mcqueen front fenders
home made bumpers front and rear.
t&j tube frame stiffeners
hd front frame plates
33x10.5x15 BFG Baja t/a

haha yea california for the most part is nice on vehicles

Nice, now take it out to the dirt and let's see some video!
haha i wish. But need to get some rear shocks on it first. I was thinking of building a bed cage in it then when i put a cage in it tie it into that but i have stuff to finish up even before that.

What wheels are those?

i honestly dont know what brand they are they were on it when i bought it.

On a side note. I drove it for the first time on sunday and had quite the rattle coming from the front end. Come to find out the T&j performance upper shock mounts have a bit of play between the brackets and shocks so when i drive it they are rattling on the bolt. Anyone else have this problem? I guess im ganna have to see if i can slid a washer or two up there.

Years ago i bought the Tand Js front shock mounts for my cherokee. After they were on i noticed that i would have to really tighten the shock bolts extra tight so there was no play. I was told they are for a 2.5 shock and not a 2 in shock. You can probably get different misalignment spacers and they would make the 2 in shock fit fine with no play.

Jeep looks friggin GREAT man! Good job on the build, keep us updated!

As for the T&J shock mounts, they're made for 1.5" mounting width. Most shocks come with spacers for 1.25" width. My upper and lower rears are 1.25" and my front lowers are 1.25", but I had to have Joel from Bilstein send me some 1.5" mis-spacers for 1.5" width. That may be your problem.

WOW, nice job.

I've seen those limit strap clevis's rattle quite a bit, did you do misalignment spacers with the upper shock mounts?

I am really kinda unsure how these would rattle while spring ones wouldnt. I just ordered the kit from poly and didnt know how they would come. I have both nuts on each end of the frame mount tightened down fairly tight and have not slack or noise from them. Do you mind elaborating on that subject for me?
Also yea i did put the misalignment spacers in there but from what crazyjim says i got another quarter inch that i need to take up.

Thanks Jim your build was really the first build up i looked at. I will deff. keep updating the thread. I need to get more gas for my welder so i can complete the T&J frame stiffeners since i only have it bolted on to the rear hangers. I might also work on the rear axle truss this weekend.

I dig the front bumper. Any pics of the engine cage?

thanks, well right now it is bolted to the upper radiator cross member. I will tie it into the engine cage when i get to that point. i have already been thinking in my head how i am going to route the tubing in the engine cage with all the stock stuff in there.

DAYUM, that thing is pure sex.

geez your easy haha. You guys got me really motivated to work hard on it. Only limitations are work, last semester of college, girlfriend, and $$$. The determination is there.

haha well the paint on it is okay the roof is oxidized to hell but she is 100% rust free and everything else visually looks good especially for $800, if that makes you feel better.
