Robby's prerunner porn buildup

IIRC, the Tahoes and other Flex Fuel vehicles at the dealer for whom I used to work were rated with considerably less mileage. But I've also heard of guys running E85 in highly tuned turbo cars since it's supposed to be higher octane, I think. I might just be an idiot, jury's still out on that one. :D

yes higher octane (around 100), but uses way more fuel to produce the same HP

Yea the efficiency raring is lower than gas. But i havnt noticed that mutch diff.

Hey everyone well been a while since i have updated this thread but its not because i have not done anything.

Steering: I now have currie steering on the jeep, a rebuilt steering box, and a steering box brace. I modified the steering box brace so the tube is welded to my lower skid.

Transmission: I installed a b&w aux. trans cooler that i put in front of the condenser in front of the elec. fan. I also put in a switch so i can either have the elec. fan on with ignition or have it in factory. To finish off the auto i installed a radesignsproducts.com baja shifter. I think the install came out nice and its so nice to use. Well worth the money.

Shocks: So I sold my front 2.0 remote resis to my friend and i scored on a set of used but new fox 10" 2.0 double bypass and fox 16" double bypass. The front were easy to swap out now for the rears. Well I am going to start off by building my interior cage starting at pillar c and working back then forward that way i can finish my rear suspension and have it drivable.

holy shiny shocks

Ordered some dom today. Like i said before financial obligations force me to start from the back and work my way forward. This will allow me to finish my c/d pillar portion and bed cage so i can mount my shock, bump and strap it. That will allow me to enjoy the jeep and drive it but not be quite done. Then when money permits i will work my way forward the rest of the way to front bumper.

Some may call me paranoid, but the risk is there of melting your exhaust valves and other internals due to E85's different stoich value of 9.76:1 compared to gasoline's value of 14.7:1. In other words you need 33% more fuel under all conditions to get the same output you would on regular unleaded. The motor runs lean and EGT's skyrocket.

All "flex fuel" vehicles have ethonal sensors that compensate the fuel and timing maps for this reason.

Just a heads up.

it also eats rubber gaskets/orings, like the ones in the fuel system. Flexfuel vehicles have synthetic gaskets for this reason

Bet ya didnt know these jeeps run pritty decent on e85. Aside from taking longer to start and not Having alot of power at full throttle. Everyday driving is just fine, i dont see any less mpg and its around 40 cents cheaper, and much cleaner. I think i have around 4000 miles on it running it no probs. o would like to get a programmer and custom tunning to make it run at its full potential i think it needs to run richer an more timing.

I would not recommend doing this. You are probably running WAY lean. E85 needs approx. 30% more fuel to have the correct A/F ratio. Your jeep is down on power because not enough fuel is being delivered into the system.

e85 is a great fuel for performance use. We rally race and use it in our Evo Rally Car.

That said, we have to run larger injectors and a much higher flowing fuel pump in order to deliver the added amount of e85 needed to make the car run properly.

My advice to you, run regular fuel unless you're looking to burn up a motor. Alternatively, install an S-AFC and wideband like we did in our Jeepspeed to tune proper air/fuel ratios. Even then, if you can't take advantage of the e85 burning nice and cool for you by tuning timing, there isn't too much point in running e85 as your MPG's will decrease with proper tuning.

Well i really dont drive the jeep much at all anymore. And the last to times i did where for play so i was and am running regular for performance reason. I get what ya say though. thanks for posting

Thanks. Currently got some other projects that have put the jeep on the back burner. Helping a friend on his custom tow rig then in the near future we will jump on this. Projects are always easier with two people.
