Reversing Anti-Lambo Doors

I had to reweld both my door hinges, and did something similar, but at the end I cranked up the heat and did one super slow wide arc to melt all that previous "filler" and make it look pretty before painting it ;). Superb tech!

I'm so glad I found this thread! My dad's Jeep almost has the same mod and it needs to be eliminated. You think I can do it with my Mobi-Arc and Fat Tire?

One question I had though about the finished product. Did it hurt your fingers when you tied the two beads in a knot or did you wear gloves?

Finaly put a straight line on the rig!
I asked Ed if he was happy with it and he just said “Look it’s not my rig, yeah, I love it!” Then he just walked away laughing at me.

Ed also wanted to make sure everyone knew he had nothing to do with this build . . .

Super tech awesome thread.

Please don't hate, Ed really try's his best!

More work done, put on the drivers side anti boat side:

Welded it on because the glue would not hold it up:

Cutting out more passenger floor so it will drain out faster:

You never finished the writeup on the anti boatsides, curious minds WANT TO KNOW

This weld indicates very poor penetration. Could be caused by not a powerful enough machine/setting too low, or too fast of a feed speed.

I still find some shock when people try to post helpful tech in this thread, is it just they are so lazy as to not read the first page, posting to be a post whore or just simple ignorance?
(Please don't respond to this question!)

Maybe it is just the haters trying to kill the worlds best tech thread every made on NAXJA! Mods can we please move this thread to the Super-Ultra-Advanced-Fab-Builder-Section, thanks in advance.

Progress has been slow but we did take it out on a test drive:

Got it up to freeway speeds:

At this point we thought the over hanging fenders would keep us out of first place at the show and shine:

Busted out the Plasma cutter and free handed it on the rig:

Talk about a pro cut, one pass and show room looks:

Still needs a little help on getting the lines perfect:
IMGP8221.jpg

Once we opened the door we thought this might be just past a quick fix:

Did some more welding on the floor/rocker/frame stiffeners:

Welded up some bad cuts in the floor:
IMGP8219.jpg

Added some sex appeal:

Then covered the hole with a plastic mat:

Then we thought if we only run 4 out of 5 lug nuts we could save some weight:
IMGP8227.jpg

Only made it a few blocks, the cops were not happy about the 4 lug nut idea:

Here you can see them counting each lug nut:

So much for a good weight saving idea, next update should be in 6 months, less time off for good behavior.

gotta love the tail-light warranty...

he left, can't see the tail lights anymore, warranty's up! :conceited

Thank you for posting the mini boatsides pictures  have you considered using some of that sick diamond plate matting on the outside as armor? I think you could install it pretty well with liquid nails.

Well he got out early so back at it, thought we would help keep the doors on with an over sized roof rack:

You can see we dented the roof in trying to get it up on the thing!

We melted down beer cans to make the tube:

Welded in some extra skid plates:

:nono:

there is some really sloppy, low quality fab in that. You should be ashamed! The dust covers on the running lights are upside down.

The Red on Red did not stand out and we wanted to be sure everyone could see the quality work:

The boat sides seem so played out, we went with a canoe or kayak side instead:
