Well, There's my Brother-in-law, maybe his Uncle in a FJ40. As far as Neil I thnk there is a slim cahnce that he'll come. Mike(fresno_jeepr) called me up and said he'll be there.

That's it so far, what kind of jeep did you get?

88' XJ with 4.0 AW4 242 it has 8.8 with lock rightin back. HP 30 open with 297 shafts. RE SYE, RE 4.5 kit. Sits about 6"s of lift. 33" TSL SXs. uke: Has a tomken front bumper. Its clean. Drives nice. Need to add some support to the Drop brackets, and put the tail lights on and roof rack.

I am searching for some cheap new or used 4:88 gears. And a used detriot for the front. Keep an eye out for me. I am going to need tires relativly soon, and the 35" MTRs are already on the list.

Are you guys wanting to do a sat/sunday trip?

For gears there's only one guy, Rawbrown. He is done south and he'll give you a good price. If he charges you shipping, fresno_jeepr runs down there pretty often.

I can only do a day run, I can meet everyone on Saturday at the sandy flats at 9 am. As long as my carpet doen't catch on fire again. :flame:

My BIL will proably be there Friday Night, he said something about camping by Bald.

I did Mirror Lake a few weeks ago, it's fun little trail but wasn't much of a challenge at all, even with my 33" street tires and not locking the front ARB. The lake was really nice, and a great place to take my "date"

That's a real nice area up there, I'm thinking I'll come down and do Bald Mt. over Christmas break, I understand that trail is open year round (?).

This is at the bald mountian trailhead in march:

I headed up the first short climb from there but neither my dad or brother wanted to try it. Rock Creek road from Dinkey creek to the Bald mountain trail head was still a fun little drive through the snow.

Not sure what this has to do with red/coyote on the 31st though [/hijack]

Brett you just wanted to be part of this very cool thread I started. I know, just a couple weeks ago I was telling you where to go. Brett thanks for returning the favor and trail report.

It's good to see that our girlfriends/fiances, wives, etc (women) are driving the trails with us. This only helps us in that they can get some fun out of the trip and not come down on us so hard when we spend our hard earned $$$ and time on our beloved Jeep. I'm still working on getting my wife to come on more offroad trips and then drive a portion of the trail. It's not that hard in an automatic, she gave up trying to learn to drive a manual.
I tried teaching here when we lived in Santa Rosa and we had a slight hill at a stop sign and she didn't let the clutch out slow enough/gas fast enough and stalled a few lights before a cop happened to get behind us and over the load speaker said "Is there a problem?" I then got in the driver seat and we were off, man my wife was embarrased. I don't know how people learn to drive a stick in SF. I sure do miss my 5 speed Wrangler now, it was fun.

Everything is too easy with the automatic. I moved to NorCal when I was 6 so I'm ready to do the hardcore trails. I'm locked front and rear so I'm set-up. Once I re-install my Hella fog lights I'll be ready to wheel all night long. Last night I went to bed at 10:30 though.

Any one else decide to join us? I am also heading up to a trail, not sure with one, for three days to camp. I am going to be there the 12 thru 14. When I know, we could have a party on the hill Friday night.
