Reader's Rig's

looks nice and clean!
though I'm not a fan of the mudflaps, but I did just get a ticket last night for not having any....

I am no fan of them either but apparently its the law. I've been curious about the same thing! I've seen numerous people in lifted vehicles get sited for not having mudflaps and like u stated they weren't on there from the factory. I went to the local Sheetz this morning for some things and a cop pulled in shortly after me and parked right next to me and all the while was sitting there staryin at my jeep then when I came out he just stood there half in the cruiser as if he were gonna jump in and pull me over for something.

people been sayin' i need mudflaps in PA.......now i ask; how can they make you put something on that didn't come from factory?

Did you lift kit and big tires that stick out past the fender come from the factory? No, thats why its a law. Not saying I agree with it just saying the reason it that your tires kick up alot more debris that you think.

my tires are only about 1/2" out from fender flare but i do understand where you're coming from. state cops let it slide but the town boys nail ya pretty quick

Just about 5 Years, and I have never been pulled for them.
IF you get pulled by a local cop for it, show them your inspection sticker.
Technically the mud flap thing is the area of the tires that are covered, there is a specific percentage of the tire that has to be covered by the wheel well.
The more you trim and lift the less of the tire covered the more likely you will need flaps.
But make no mistake, if you get pulled for it. fight it. its an inspection thing, not a cop thing.

My inspection is up in May so I cant really say anything about it just yet if I were to get pulled over. However, I have a friend who happens to be a mechanic and in the process of getting re-certified so I'm gonna talk with him about the inspection laws and mudflaps.

Thought i'd throw up a pic of my Jeep with the Surco Rack and JCR sliders! :D Its a poser shot!
