Radio Stations

XM may be good, but you can't beat a good morning show to wake you up.
When you find one that funny and bold, you can't do without it.

Gonna have to disagree on this one. I hate mornings, and the last thing I want to hear when I'm heading out into traffic are two people who are way too happy for that time of the morning.

Jamie and Danny, I hope you die.

I disagree. I listen for music not some idiots talking and joking. Most of them seem to just make fun of folks and usually in a fairly mean way.

My kind of people.
But the ones I listen to usually make fun of the companies' (Clear Channel's) other station's Djs and eachother, not the general public.

Normaly I would agree with you about morning shows. I hate the normal morning deal with all the fake laughing and stupid pranks. However the radio station I listen too here has a morning show thats totally different then anything I have heard anywhere. Its two guys and a woman and they are funny but its not so made up. They are pretty much down to earth as far as no laugh tracks...no pranks...no stupid morning show skits or songs.

BTW one of the stations I was talking about here is Jack FM too. It must be a national thing and I have to say....I hate it. Not so much because there isn't DJs as they get on my nerves also but more for the fact that its just a cheap way to run a radio station.

I have XM in one of my cars and love it except for one thing. It sucks to get stuck in a traffic jam somewhere and not know about it because what you are listening to is nationwide and not local. At least with local stations...if they are good...will give you road conditions and traffic reports every ten minutes or so.

First they ruined WNEW, I streamed the WRAT. Companies bitched and the streams stopped. I listened to Q104 and WXRK until I found out that Q104 is FearChannel and WXRK messed up its format. 101.1 died, and so did WYSP. In Central Jersey the only good stations left are G106.3, 95.9 the RAT, and 88.3 WBGO.

I got Sirius back in March and took my radio antenna off a week later.

X2.
I havent listened to "regular" radio in over a year.
It is all blah blah blah blah!
I have Sirius in both her truck and mine, we have the "boom box" to listen to in the house or where ever.
Perhaps if enough people subscribe to Sattelite radio, "old fashioned" radio will pull their shit together!
The other day I was driving a company owned truck and a local radio station ran an add slamming sat. radio, looks like they are starting to get scared!

I gave up on traffic reports from both Sat and Local radio stations. They all seem to lag big time and by the time they mention anything it's already over or I've passed whatever the problem was. And on top if it all they have a skewed version of what's normal or not:
"You jam factor is green. The traffic is flowing freely at 35mph" 35mph????? We're talking about a freeway here that has the speed limit of 65mph!

Having spent a lot of time in L.A. driving your horrable freeways I would agree with you...at least as far as your area goes.
However here we are still small enough that we really only have four freeway systems to worry about and the UDOT has a really good system of cameras, overhead signs and then the local radio stations all have someone in the UDOT traffic center. For the most part they are really on top of things. I can't count the times I have rerouted myself to avoid closures, jams and other crap.
