PSA: Check for water under your floormats

I don't know how much rain the rest of you got, but we got some serious water this past week. 2 1/2" on Tuesday, most of it over the course of about two hours. At any rate, I found a good bit of moisture under my floor mats. The carpet did not feel wet to the touch, but when I pushed down into it I suddenly found standing water. Not exactly optimal. Wet vac time.

Next I have to figure out how to keep this stuff from getting in in the first place. I know my door seals have damage around the bottom and around the latches.

Mine had 2 inches of water on the floorboard due to having no doors.
I'm just going to let it evap.

One of the miatas had an inch, the jeep was only slightly damp (I think it was the trip to tahoe though)

Come to think of it, could you check Gomer too? I'm not sure he's used to the concept of rain.

It's also a good idea to check that the drain holes in the bottom of the doors are clear.

Gomer has a known leak there. Not sure where it's coming from.

I have a copule leaks, the one that baffles me is the moisture I find in the center of the cargo area.

That is the case for my 2001. If it weren't for Husky Liners and a turkey baster I could probably see the pavement through the floorboard.

Both footwells were wet but I never had the time to diagnose it before I handed it off. If I were David I'd check the windshield frame first (since it's super easy to do).

No wait, if I were David I'd give GSequoia a couple cases of Ommegang. Then I'd have a beer with him. Then we'd probably talk about diagnosing the issue then doze off.
