Project Second Chance

Yeah I dont understand why they swtiched from welding actual nuts to the strip. I'm thinking it's easier for them to manufacture

Think I just wanna get my money back and buy ruff stuff

Got some work done today. My dad has a jeep at jermey's (Johnnie Walker) house that had stock nut strips so with Jeremy's help I went and pulled them out, and threw them in my jeep along with the gas tank skid and hitch. Everything went really smoothly for once and its all buttoned up. Thanks again Jeremy for the help.

Jcr strips out

Stock strips/gas tank skid/hitch in

And everything all put together

My dad painting the hitch white was supposed to be a joke...but I think it looks preyty good haha

Just got a free coolant flush at work cuz we got new machines and had to be trained on how to use them and the jeep was the one with thr easiest upper hose to get to haha. Good thing too my coolant looked pretty nasty

Had a great time at Coyote Lake last weekend not a ton of wheeling pics of my jeep but I got some good ones of my dad

And the most interesting thing on the trail

Those wheels on Barney Jeep look amazing, where did that guy get those?! Haha.
I'll get a chance to wheel again someday

Some local dbag...bwahahahaha jk. I love the way they look on it.

So my dad picked up some shackle relocaters from Chris (NorCalChris) for me. Got them on today. No pics right now but it sits much better. Im using the stock shackles cuz I dont want it sitting any higher in the rear. Does anyone know if any company sells stock height shackles that are stronger?

someone took a stock kia to coyote? that trail is gnarly we did that one on friday... I am assuming just to red lake and not all the way to coyote?

Yeah the kia didnt make it to coyote, just red lake, which is still pretty impressive. He was with another guy in an xj that looked like it drove straight out of a quadratec magazine haha. We saw them drive into coyote lake the next day in it.

Hey Cencal read your PMs

did you take your rig into coyote? whats your build specs if you did?
coyote is pretty gnarly little trail...

Yes I did.
Front:
Stock D30
Artec LCA mounts
Deaver coils
12"travel bilstien 5150's
IRO HD tie rod
Double sheer trac bar mount
Aftermarket trac bar (not sure on brand)
Rear:
D35 :(
Limited slip
Chromo shafts
Rustys leafs

33" falken wild peaks

Drove it 5ish hours there, wheeled it and drove it home

I'm starting a much better paying job next week. So build plans will change for the better. Im pretty excited.

New plan is D60's, and coilovers front and rear with 37s probably. Going for an ultra 4 kinda deal where I can crawl and haul ass in the desert.

So I've had this bad knocking noise on my front suspension for like a month now. Ball joints had a ton of play so I was certain that was the problem. I replaced all 4 today and the noise is still there. All the bushings/joints in my control arms look okay and I couldn't get them to move whem I took a pry bar to them. Anyone have any ideas?
