You mean reinforce the lca mount or the shock mount?

Haha good point. At some point I wanna make an all new lca mount. Until then I susspose I'll just keep and eye on it and not beat on it....too hard haha

What kind of cutter are you using? Nice to see some Cad work on an xj. I agree with everyone on the strength concern, perhaps you can make up some beefier LCA mounts with that shock tab design integrated in.

Im not sure, it was at my buddies shop, next time I see him I will ask. And yeah, like I said, I plan on doing new lca mounts

So a couple small updates.

Took her out for her maiden voyage to miller jeep trail on fathers day. She did awesome but I realized I need to get my rear travel up to par with the front. Other than that everything seems to be working great.

Only trouble we had on the trail was my dads lca bolt walked itself out and it pushed the passenger side of axle back enough for his tire to dig into the fender. This also bent the stock upper arm on the passenger side, and the driveline started digging into driver side upper. So we took the passenger side upper off to bend it back into shape. Then used my jeep and hooked a tow rope to his axle to pull it back into place.

Only got a couple pics from the trip

And today I finished up the rear fenders and sprayed the bottom half with undercoating

Next is longer brake lines front and rear and then I'm ordering the RuffStuff DIY 3/4 heim steering and trac bar kits!

whats everyone's thoughts on truss vs. sleeve's for the front d30?

Thats not overkill? Im only on 33s right now and dont really plan on going bigger than 35s

Oh and I finally renewed my membership

Stock coil brackets yes, but if you look on the last page I cut out the stock shock mount and welded on tabs so I could run my 12" bilstein 5150's

Re: Re: Project Second Chance

Remember those have the adjustable slot and not just a hole for the bolt to go through. Might make it a pain

You can order it without the adjustment slots

Just get some poly performance lower CA mounts, they are cheaper, local, and you know people that can get you a deal.
That is what I have on my XJ, they are the 5 degree driver/passenger ones. Dennis welded them on "upside down" for built in protection.

Aside from that, you can get a "cam bolt eliminator kit" that is basically a cam bolt washer with a dead center hole. Those washers are typically thicker than regular washers.

Went out and bought a trans cooler from pep boys today. Hopefully gunna plumb it in either Thursday or Sunday.
Also got some clear red VHT for the tail lights. Never been a fan of amber turn signals.
