Project Olive Drab

One more vote for ODing the wheels.

My reasoning is that they painted the wheels body color in the era that color hails from. (not sure how long they kept doing that... I now at least until my 416 was made...)

Unless you used flat or semigloss clear...

Makes sense. Thanks for the info.

I think i have enough black on the rig to make the OD wheels work. I'll paint the wheels when the new tires arrive, if i dont like it i can always shoot them black again.

Trail-Axe... no clear on this.

I got the bumpers painted with POR-15, hit the JEEP emblems after i took this 1st shot.

I'm having second thoughts on painting the hood flat black like i had originally planned. Below is a shot of a Rover with the blackout... should i?

Oh, funny story. I have been parking in the street out in front of the house (i'm at a dead end) and we had a windy evening with a storm that blew through a week ago. This particular evening my son wasnt home yet so i parked in the driveway... a large branch about 10" in diameter came down right where the Jeep would have been. I think someone was looking out for me....

I vote to keep the hood OD.

The difference between flat black and that OD isn't going to be a whole lot.

Yeah, i'm leaning that way after seeing how glossy the bumpers are. Combo of flat and gloss black wont work i believe..

I gotta say one thing man.

I wouldn't run 500's up there, I'd run a pencil beam up high like that and keep the fog (wide) beams down low. If you're concerned about seeing stuff on hills you peak I'd have a lamp in the middle pointed down angled to where the light *just* misses the hood.

Those arent the fog version, they are the driving version which has a decent pencil beam. Regardless, i'm considering moving them to the bumper so i dont lose the use of them when my rack is off and the tent is mounted on top.

OD green looks great on both Jeeps. Lookin great guys

I'm seriously considering copying what irish44j did to his wheels.

I have a set of 15x7 Canyons on a ZJ project i picked up, thinking semi-gloss black with my new 33x10.5 BFG's. Thoughts?

You promised me green!

What do you think, just cause it's your rig, you get to decide how it'll look?

:twak:

:laugh3:

What was i thinking?!

Bet they would look good OD too....

Quarter protection is installed, also threw on the RoofTop Tent in prep for NAC-Fest in 2 weeks.

Interior is buttoned back up. Installed the rear door panels and cargo area trim after installing the tinted glass.

Rest of the day was spent drinking suds and trying to stay cool in 97* weather and prepping my new D30 housing for a R&P install. Hopefully next weekend.
