power door locks not functioning

So when I bought my '92 4-door XJ, my power door locks never really worked properly, only the right front works. I can grease up the latch assembly and it seems to work for about a week. I bought actuators for 3 bucks at the junkyard, but that didn't seem to work....Do you all think that the latch assembly's are just gummed up? Because I took them all off, took them to the parts cleaner and cleaned the hell out of them, then greased before and after I put them back in, and they still just do not respond. They work fine manually...Is there any common solution that may fix this problem?

Are they responding at all when you hit the switch? makes noise but just not locking?
You might of got some bum actuaters at the junkyard.
