WOW! My first time across Potts in the snow. It was and adventure from the start! There was 4-6" of snow on the trail from Thursday.

Officer Price met with us at the trail head to go over the ground rules and just say hello(nice guy by the way but he does mean business! You better follow the rules up there!)

Then when we got to the Ledge I honestly did not think I could get my rig through. I was leading the front and there were no tracks so we were the first ones through since yesterday. I aborted at Rocker Knocker, But after spotting one XJ through I decided to put my big boy pants on and give it a go! I made it!!

Then there was The Stacks! I went full throttle assault and wound up hitting a large rock just above the tree which spun me sideways in the trail. Not a great situation but Old Blue pulled me through.

I don't know if I would run Potts in the snow again but at least I can say that I did it at least once!

We had 5 rigs go in, 5 rigs came out. No damage, no injuries, lots of fun!

One thing I do not like about snow wheelin, you can't stack rock....cause you can't find the rock to stack them LOL!

We winched 2 rigs through Rocker Knocker and 3 up The Stacks.

Also I should have added a "Thank You" to the guys from NC4x4 for letting me tag along. They are a great bunch of guys that i would wheel with anytime/place!

Snow wheeling is fun! Wish we had some here to play in!

Potts Mountain was a blast in the snow! I had no idea what the group was in for when we first started. I will plan on going again when it isn't so slick up there! And for sure do some good camping. John was a great trail guide for us first timers from NC. I know for many of us we liked the trail ride at potts more than any of the trails at Uhwarrie. What a long day. It took everything out of me and my cherokee. It was my second trip out on my All terrains for the first time and I was so surprised with their performance. They really didn't bog up with anything and I was able to keep good control the entire day. I would say it took both my front and rear lockers to stay afloat with my small tires. I went out and beat it up :gee:

Some fun pictures my friend took!
