Heading up to Pole Hill Road tomorrow for some light wheeling. Its up by Estes Park. Figure meet up in Lyons at the first gas station on your Left after turning into Lyons from H36. I'll post up more info later on as I finalize the plan. Count on an early morning start though if you want to come.

Yeah he made it back!

How was the DNC duty?

......I wish you would have been able to come up with us yesterday?

The wife won't let me do two wheeling trips in a row :(

We will have to hook up sometime on a trip there.....

Hope you have fun!

Well we decided not to run Pole Hill after all. They guy that wanted to do that trail drank too much last night and didn't make it this morning. Therefore my buddy Matt (4Runner) and I decided to hit up Left Hand/Carnage. Unfortunately we both forgot our cameras so there are no pics.

We went up Carnage and took a right up Fireman's Hill and followed that up to where it rejoins Left Hand Main Trail. We then took FS-288 to Castle Creek Road and followed that back down to H-94/Left Hand Canyon Road.

I wound up denting my rocker on a rock and also dented up the lower quater panel by the rear bumper. I also managed to really test out my new Rusty's flex flares I'd installed last night by dragging one along a boulder. End result? Flare held up great.

I have some pics of the flares and the damage I did to my rig. My buddy Matt put a good dent in his 4Runner when I pulled him up the hill climp at the end of Carnage. Its about a fist sized dent near his tail light. It also left some red paint along the wall. No pics of that though, sorry.

Dragged the side of my Jeep (and the new flare) along the side of a boulder, no damage incurred.

Smacked the rear, lower quater on a rock as I was coming off it. Oops.

Slid into a boulder, incurred a bit of damage to the rocker but nothing serious.

Looks like ya had some fun!!

I thought you had rocker guards?

..............aw well gives the Jeep more personality :roflmao:

Did you get the frame stiffeners yet? I though you mentioned that before getting the TNT long kit. Once you get those on, then you can fab up some rockers!

I like how the flares went from being all glossy and shiny to the next day looking all faded and rock rash on them.

Its only the rear passenger flare that is all faded, it came that way from Rusty's. I'm not exactly sure why, and I really don't care either.

I had that happen with Xenon flares on my CJ, one of the four was a slightly different tint. (Couldn't return them as they were an open box item). Looked awkward, but after six months in the sun they all matched.

It looks good...... I have been pondering those same flares from Rusty's or just cutting the crap out of the fenders. I want to stuff the new 33x10.50x15 BFG M/T km2's under my 4" lift next spring after my gears :spin1:

So I gather you are happy with the flares?

I know you didn't have the fenders really cut except for the passenger side carnage but how much body did you actually cut out/gain in clearance for stuffing the tires?

So what weekend is the long arm kit going on? I saw RangerRicks on Sunday and was pretty impressed with the clearance of the arms. The "others" kits hang down and give up some of the undercarriage clearance.

Was wonderin what ya thought of the Rustys flex flares! Quality of materials, ease of installation ect. I have been wanting some flares and had been eyeballing those! Did you purchase the TnT Longarm? The TnT is probably the best radius arm setup out there! My bro JWTrapper runs it and it is awesome! I opted for a 4-link and am in the process of getting it in now. :peace:

I am very happy with the flares, they fit on the Jeep perfectly. Installation is really easy. Just drill the holes and install the rivets. I do recommend having more than 1 of the required 1/8" drill bits though, they break easily.

I had already removed about 1.5" from the fron flares, I then removed about 2 more inches from the front just before mounting the flares. In the rear I made multiple cuts into the fender up to the pinch weld, I then folded the edges in flat against the inner fender well. This gave me about 1.5" additional room. The rear was limited by the inner fender well and pinch weld, not from the flares.

I did order the TnT LA setup. I have the arms but UPS sent my bellypan back to TnT because I was not there to sign for it (stupid DNC). Seems kind of stupid as they delivered the other 3 boxes I got from TnT, but oh well. I need to call TnT tomorrow to figure out when/how I can get my belly pan. I also got a set of their 1.5" U-Bolt eliminators sized for a Ford 8.8 axle. I won't be installing the LA until I can get the rest of my parts lined up.

Parts I'm on the prowl for:
- Ford 8.8 w/ disc brakes from an Explorer
- Super 8.8 kit
- Super 30 kit w/ 4.10 gears
- Alcon 4" lift spring packs
- 6.5" Lift springs for the front
- Extended front brake lines
- Uniframe stiffeners
- Locker for the 8.8 and D30
- Fuel tank skid
- T-Case regear kit and 2lo kit
- Front bumper
- 35's w/ DOT approved beadlocks
I also have more stuff I need to do to the S4's, a VW Caddy p/u I'm working on for a friend in Iraq, and my 1978 Rabbit project. Needless to say I'm eternally busy and broke.

.......I had that happen once. It is because with multiple packages the seller/business only puts a signature request on one of the packages instead of all the packages, because they figure they will get delivered all at once and save them time on the added paperwork/setup. :wierd:

.....god I hope they don't try to charge you to re-send the skid plate, that's probably the heaviest item?!

That is a mighty LOOOONG wish list, is Santa gonna bring you some of that stuff for Xmas? ....its only four months away

Don't forget the ever increasing cost of your boy. As months go bye he will demand more and more :tears: ............

I didn't see rocker guards on that list?

Thanks for the input Dutch!! I will order those flares! You have one heck of a list! Mine was that long but have aquired most of it and am trying to get installed!!
