we have added some rules in the for sale forum, including the requirement of an asking price and location of items sold. If you do not include these two requirements your post will be deleted.

Those ads that are already posted will be grandfathered in and will not be required to add this information if it does not have it.

Thank you,
Dan

Location should be in the first post so people on tapatalk can see it.
I'd say zip code or town name would be fine.
I don't care what the location on their profile says, as long as the one in their sale thread is correct.

On 5/13/13, Director Matt (MacGyvr) Rowland brought up discussion of mandating the inclusion of price and location in the MWC Classifieds section when posting items for sale. Discussion led to the determination that these were fair additions to the forum rules and an accurate location on the Member/Supporter/User's post box was sufficient enough for location.

It is kind of the understanding that people who have their accurate location listed in the box would know that their posting it in the ad would be redundant.

Are you unable to see the user's location box from tapatalk?

Location is required in the first post or the thread risks deletion. Of course, this could be a problem if they use their location box and it can't be seen on tapatalk.

As far as how broad the location goes, I'd personally like to see it narrowed down to at least a region of the state. For instance if I posted something for sale and didn't have my location listed as I do, North East Wisconsin would work for me. I know where that's at and people who would likely be interested in an item from the area would also know where it is. If you're in Ohio and see North East Wisconsin, mentioning that it's in Green Bay wouldn't matter much if they don't plan on going there knowing that no matter where NEW is, it's in Wisconsin and likely too far anyway.

Zip, City...those would be great too. It doesn't hurt to be more precise.

Anyone else (BOD) think that what I have outlined here is good enough?

Can't see it unless you click on their profile. On gl4x4 and CF (when I was on there) it is required to be on the first post.

Ok, we can bring that back for discussion.

Thanks.
Looks like it's not "required" on GL, but you are supposed to if your profile isn't correct. They have a good list of rules that I think are acceptable.

I do know it's required on cf because of the mobile issue though. You CAN see it on tapatalk, just takes more time.
