Here are mine. I bent the pass. side bracket the first time I used them, but they get the job done. I can get better pics of the brackets later if you like.

I had to use some nuts as spacers when I put the tow hooks on. As it came, the hooks would not bolt to the brackets, they would hit the bumper. As seen in the picture was about as high as I could get them and still clear the bumper with the thick nuts I had on hand.

They look like they are lower than they actually are due to the angle of the picture - the front end of the XJ is up pretty high.

They were kind of a pain to install. All the holes were very close to lining up with the holes in the frame rails, but getting all the holes to line up at the same time took some time and effort.

I could have taken it easy and just trimmed the air dam, but I was in a hurry and didn't really care about the dam so I just cut sections of it out for the hooks.

All in all I am glad to have them, although if I had it to do again I might just buy a front tow hitch. In any case they were a lot cheaper than a bumper.

This is my current strategy actually. I am thinking about some of the tow hook brackets and then welding or bolting some receiver adapters/converters on to the brackets.

From there I could use hooks, D-rings, whatever. Or I could even tow the XJ.

Another option I looked into was using the Roadmaster XL tow-bar setup which is basically the same thing, except that it's ~$500 and it uses a 1.5" receiver which is neither Class-II nor Class-III/IV. So I would rather buy something like the C4x4 or the Hi-Country brackets. I think the Hi-Country stuff is going to be easier to work with and I am pretty confident about it's ability to be located correctly, but I wanted to see what people had done with the C4x4 setup.

So are you using this to flat tow the XJ or for recovery?
