Didn't think this belonged in the paint forum since its a opinion thing. My jeep was hit a while back and I finally got it all back together and had planned on a nice paint job. My buddy has a booth and all the tools. Now that I've thought of it my jeep has a lot of dents. So do I go all out make it straight again and paint it with automotive paint. Or do I just spray it out through the gun with rustolium and not have to worry about wheeling it and ruining my paint job. Anyone tried rustolium through a gun? Does it look half decent?

ive seen some people do it and it looks ok. not sure how long it would last, it's not catylizing and probably doesnt have the uv protection that auto paint has.

If you have access to a booth and equipment then paint it nice and know you can go back for touch ups later on or not care if it got scratched cause you didn't spend a fortune on it.

I've shot paint that's similar to rustoleum through a HVLP gun. I brought the gun with me to the paint shop and they recommended I thin it 1:6 for the tip size in my gun. I painted an axle with it and it still looks alright.
