PA Jeeps Show 7-20/21...???

After much thought I have to declare that I am no position to do this so late in the game, although I will be attending the show Sunday at the very least.

1. There is simply not enough time to do it right at this point.
2. My friend of 30 years suffered a stroke last saturday, doing this plus getting down to see him, plus work, would break me.
3. We do have a duly elected Southern Events Coordinator, and it is not I. Not sour grapes, mind you, I never threw my name into the hat. But, in all seriousness, this does fall into the "not my job" category. So be it. Too little, too late, does not make for a good turnout. I consider the ball dropped (let the hate mail begin). I would have loved to have done this for the club, Carol also, but it appears that it just wasnt on the radar. Before anyone accuses me of throwing bombs out on the forum, know that this began with a simple, honest question. Please direct all responses to this thread, as I will not even entertain being criticized behind the scenes for asking it. Let it out in public and let the membership be the judge of who made the effort.
Rich

p.s. my thanks to those who volunteered to help out, both "red letter" members and not, your efforts are appreciated.

I haven't seen Chris (Mrshaft) respond in any way. Maybe he is still willing to do something here. I know Rick will give NAXJA a spot, as long as someone does the legwork to get it set up. Rcman probably has the banner, that's just a USPS package away. I am not sure about the color short forms that were made up a few years ago. I'll check with Keith.

Im going to put my own rules in play here and publicly apologize for my attitude. I owe Chris a major apology for what was said. I have some screen names crossed with actual people here, and I don't know how that happened. There is a backstory here, as last years nacfest I heard of someone complaining loudly about poorly run events and how things should be "different". Somehow I attributed thus person to Chris's screenname, I don't know how that happened, and I am deeply sorry for it. This years nacfest was among the best ever, much of that due to his efforts.
I am disappointed that we won't be in the show this year, for sure, but how I got it across shouldn't have risen ( or sunk) to the level it did if I had my info right.
My apologies to everyone.
Rich

Rich you did as all of us do once in awhile. We vent and it happens, but not all of us are man or woman enough to know if we crossed the line. And with that you are the better person.
But on the flip side. You are speaking what you are seeing and you want to better this and if that means calling out people, then I am sorry for saying this. It must be done.
It is a true shame that there will be no NAXJA tent this year unless something happens fast and I hope it will. I remember helping out a couple years ago with the tent and it was a great time with some great people. Although I will be at another tent, I wish there was a NAXJA tent that I could come crash at and visit some friends.
So Rich, I will see you there on sunday my friend and hope to see many other people also.

I'll be there, but I think its too late to organize a naxja booth, if there is a interest we should put it as a priority for next year & get it all together....am I making a correct assumption?

The invisible man is clear. On the that subject... The events guys (in the future) should have a banner / leaflets / info / business cards / at the ready so theres no scramble at the last second to pull off more stuff like this.

Heck even the Qtec tent sale might let NAC set a booth up, they are a NAxja vendor after all.

NAC should get a nice full color banner done up - I got a 5x5' banner for under 50 bux including shipping off ebay. High quality vinyl with laser printing. Its be a nicer presentation of the caliber of organization NAXJA has to offer.

I have leaflets, cards, sign ups , etc etc etc.

The southern event cord is the guy that should be doing these types of things in that area. The rest of the BOD is resposibe for help. Again, please let me know if there is anything I can do to get this event rolling. Unfortunately there is no way I will make it.

Got here at 7:10 and then found out spectator gates open at 8am. Wish it said that at the top of PaJeeps show website where it lists hours 7-5. Says 8 a little farther down. Could've gotten another hour sleep. Got a good parking spot under a tree at least. I was wondering why people were sitting in the cars/jeeps

Always too little time, John. The "little guy" is getting bigger by the minute it seems. I look forward to seeing him running the course next year!
It was great to see everyone who made it out, both from NAXJA and JFC. The raffle was pretty fat this year, as always, but, also as always, I came up empty handed, as did John. I just seem to have no good JuJu at this show, with the exception of two years ago. (still ahead)
There were sooo many nice Comanches there this year I dont know where the hell they are coming from!
Rich
P.S. There was even a Lavern sighting in there..get back out on the trails, woman! LOL
