OFFICIAL BS THREAD(all others will be deleted)

missed the primary, elections and subsequent runoff but very happy with our chosen leadership. RRC 2016!

What did I miss? RRC to live another 2 years? :-)

Nissan vs Toyota. Nowhere near the same.

What year runner? and what engine? timing belt service is surely due. about the only thing that can ruin a newer 'yota is a busted timing belt. Older Yotas had timing chains and will run forever....

It's more than due. They are supposed to be replaced every 90K. It should be almost on its 3rd.

I will stick with my Franken jeep Nissan SD-22 diesel transplant. It may well outlive me

Hi guys. Ive been dealing with food poisoning all day.

Yuck, that is never fun, had it 4 times the last 12 months, twice recently. One of the drugs I am taking makes it worse.

Hi guys! new guy from houston.

i started a build thread here
http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1124611

Was advised to come say hello and here i am.

little background about me.
Been into cars since my first car which was an 89 bronco 2 4x4 5spd. Dad bought it for me in high school and i got hooked. Rolled it goofing around as a 17 year old does and got stuck with commuter car replacement. Paid for my first car at 19 and got a turbo eclipse which hooked me on going fast and racing. Been playing with that scene for the last 15 years. In Highschool a friend of mine had a 89 limited XJ which i always loved and it was damned capable despite stock ride height and cheapo allseason tires and 210k miles. Another friend has had multiple Samurai's and wranglers and over the last 5 years or so we have been doing more and more jeep modding as our friend group is just a bunch of gear heads. Met my wife at a car meet in Dallas for our GTO's (04s) and lifes been wild ever since.

after 2014 being the year of transmission repairs in our GTOs i realized they arent very good at being sports cars and are just better at cruising. So after the build trans went in my GTO (t56) the trans went out on my wife's (4l60e) so we did a converter and built trans in her car. Its been nothing but problems. ordering a stock replacement crate trans from GM to get it back to running optimally. expensive lesson, but lesson learned.

So we had a long talk, and i revised my original plan which was to turbo my GTO and we decided to spend that money (around 6k projected) to buy and build an offroad toy.

After driving all the way to san antonio to pick up a modded 96 xj only to be told when i arrived that it sold the night before, i turned my focus to houston and finding a solid one locally. Found my 92 cherokee on CL, looked at it a day after it was listed and picked it up that day.

sorry i type a lot. HI EVERYONE! looking forward to meeting people and wheeling with some other XJs.

WELCOME!!!
