Off topic: Chevy 5.3L Headers

Anyone know V8 Chevy upgrades?

I've got a 2006 Suburban with 5.3L (I flat tow the Cherokee) and it has an exhaust leak thru the passenger gasket. I can replace the gasket easily enough (for $20) or I can upgrade to some shorty aftermarket headers. Is there at least a 20hp gain from aftermarket shorty headers? Or should I just save the $600 that aftermarket headers cost and stay with stock headers?

Do it! Something at least ceramic coated on the inside. Take your pick. Definitely worth it. At first I thought you were talking about for your heep, then I would have said sanderson/novak. I would guess sanderson makes a set for your other vehicle as well. The stockers flow pretty well, but are cast vs stainless/whatever some make them.

Dont waste your money on shorty headers... id throw a gasket on it and if you want better performance and gas mileage get a custom tune done by a local tuning shop or a mail order custom tune from.nelson perfomance..
