OEM front bump stop material/consistency?

I need to get some front bump stops for my 98 XJ and am wondering what type of material the OEM bump stops are made from. I bought a pair of the orange OMIX ones but they appear to be of a hard rubber, while the Crown ones are described as foam (the ones that were in my mine were of a dense foam type, but I don't know if they are the original OEM).

What type of material is used in the OEM front bump stops?

IDK what they were made of, but after about 20 years of age, it breaks down.

Everything from Omix and Crown I have purchased for my XJ and CJ-7 has been a disappointment and waste of money. The part either fit poorly, wear out quickly, or do both at the same time.

I would buy some poly replacements.

Everything I have purchased from BDS suspension and DayStar has been built like a tank, and takes endless abuse.

I’m thinking that the orange foam bump stops are OEM.

I’ve owned a ‘93 and a ‘96. I currently own a ‘98 and a ‘99. All XJs.
They all had the orange (…foam…?) bump stops. Most were deteriorating
badly, or they were completely missing here and there, when I bought the cars.

Sometimes when I peruse the self-pick yards for parts and I always see the
rotting bits of orange foam bump stops on the XJs that I’ve seen.

After replacing the bump stops with new orange foam ones, they
begin to crumble and rot away in 2-3 years, give or take.

I’m in California. No extreme weather. My cars are daily, street-driven.
No wild and crazy off-road mountain-jumping stuff.

I think that the OEM, and orange replacement, bump stops are purposely designed to self-destruct soon after the new car, or new part, warranty expires.

I didn’t know that poly ones were available up until I read this post.
