Any mechanics out there please help. 2003 ford Taurus PCM keep memory alive issue. Car runs like crap. Thought it was the tranny just got it back and it wasn't the tranny. Anyone have an idea where to start other than looking for loose or broken wires?. Thanx.

If its loosing the 12v or ground to the ECM it will wipe the memory in the ECM just like if you unhook the battery. The car will run/shift like crap as it needs to go thru the relearn procedure each time it happens.

I'd start with simple stuff like connectors, fuses, fuseable links etc....

If you can find a schematic with the pin breakouts for the ECM plugs try checking for voltage on the corresponding pins.
