I'm new to the site (joined less than a year ago), have never been to a wheeling event and I will be attending WF. I have a 2000 Cherokee with a 4.5 lift and 31" tires. a few minor upgrades (both diffs are open). I will be on the green trail for both days. Are there any common parts that tend to fail that I should bring?

Sorry for the newb question but I'm curious and unsure. I dont want to be left hanging if I can help it.

It's fine, we like the newbs.

Check in the winterfest forum for the "tips and tricks" thread. That will put you in the right mindset.

Bring spare u-joints
bring spare fluids
Do the normal maintenance before you get there and you'll be all set.
Have good recovery points.

If it breaks we will find tools/spare parts. If you have a weird combo u-joint or other "specific to your vehicle" custom piece, bring spare parts for it. Everything else that's factory we can come up with something.

if you feel the need to spend any money on your jeep before WF, buy rocker protection. This should be the #1 upgrade to any jeep.

bring extra beer, if you drink, you will need more at the fire :flame:

i Have stage 3 sliders from JCR, just gotta put them on. Beer, wont need to much, I have to beable to drive to the Hotel....no tent. But I'll hang out at the fire for a bit.

sounds like you're in great shape. Bring tools and such. Be sure that you have everything strapped down that could go flying in the event of a roll over.

From what I can read it looks like you are heading in the right direction and like was pointed make sure your requirements are met because they all will be checked throughly. Tow points are a biggy. What I am liking is that I see you are not afraid to ask questions and your taking the right steps to get ready. Winterfest is about soooooo much more then just the wheeling, hell, we can all go anywhere and wheel around an old quary, it is the brotherhood that we all share and you will experience on and off the trail as well as at the campfire. Like manche said, if you break, we will help you fix it. Just bring along the basic hand tools and spare parts and we will get ya going if it comes down to it. If it can be broke, it has been broke at Winterfest. No matter what comes up, chances are one of us have had it happen and we can help ya out. Make sure you can pass tech and you will have the time of your life...and maybe some nachos if you stop by the Casa DeCheese!!

Cheese "Winterfest is like hepetitis, once it is in your blood you cant get rid of it!" Man
