new rig (Black Betty)

why not just weld longer shock tabs to the BPEs?

OK. Had a great run up Wentworth to loon and got my first real body damage. She crawled up everything with little effort!

My wife drove most of the trail and notice play in the steering on our way out. I drove and sure enough there is about 1/4 turn of play. Looks like it is all from tie rod roll. The boots on the tre's are ripped up bad from rolling. I am thinking of getting dual hole arms and running crossover steering.

I have 1" rise arms now so between lowering it an inch and extending out the drag link I imagine the angles will be close to the same. I would need to notch the sway bar mounts lower but everything else should be good.

I'll stare at it tonight

cross over is better than inverted T. if cost is not an issue, just do it.

OK looks like I will most likely go to a cross over set up. Do I need to replace the studs and nuts that mount the hi steer arms? I assume I do.

You don't have to replace them. you can if you want to. you can just unbolt your arms and swap new ones and call it done.

Wouldnt be the end of the world to replace them and carry your current studs and arms as trail spares but probably just carry your old studs as trail spares.

I just swapped ARP studs into my dana 60 arms. Its a good piece of mind. but if your studs are newer I wouldnt bother.

Good thing your drag link is too long you'll need that now :D

yeah if not you will need fresh DOM and weld in bungs.

Another thing to think of, parts mike makes tapped DOM drag links out of 1.25 .250 wall DOM. you could give them your length required and go that route... reuse the tie rod as is.

Haha. True it just might fit now.

I am leaning toward Ruffstuff to get everything. The parts mike 1.25" threaded Dom would be sweet and would give me a little more clearance.

Anyone running 1.5" drag link and tie rod with a cross over? Any clearance issues?

Josh, that's what I'm running and I've been super happy with it. I used the RuffStuff kit, bought it when they were having one of those 20% off sales. I'm using the high angle draglink ends as well. Everything clears just fine.

I run 1.5" DOM now and ran 1.75" on the other rig it all cleared everything just fine. It depends on your specific trackbar, how you mounted your coils, etc. I think on your setup you will be fine.
