new rig (Black Betty)

welcome to the 4 speed atlas club! you will love it!
i suggest you ignore advanced adapters notion that a rear mount is not needed & order up one of TMR customs rear support kits.
the 4 speed is what, 150 lbs? that is a shit-ton of extra weight hanging way past the flimsy rubber tranny mount. i was having problems keeping the 6 nuts tight until i added the rear support mount. you may wish to replace the rubber tranny mount with a urethane one at the same time. let the fun begin!

I took Tim's advice and got this brace for my Atlas as well. Its a good buy.

Thanks for the good advise. I already have a tmr support and a poly trans mount on hand. Looks like the daystar poly mount is quite a bit shorter, maybe 3/4". Poly mount looks like a massive upgrade over those stock rubber ones.

I will prob cause me to redo my exhaust as it is already super close to the cross member. Prob a good thing , i hear i should be running 2.5" pipe for my engine anyway

I'll just add it to the list.

I also sold the white shocks off it and need to order new ones. I want reservoir shocks all around, not sure if i will go Bilstein or Fox

Between Bil 7100 and Fox the 2.0's are basically the same. I believe that Bilstein has more valving options to choose from out of the box. Both are rebuildable though.

Yeah i was set on Bilstein and called about valving. They suggested 255/70 rear 255/100 front to start.

I could find them at a great price too. Just found out i can get foxes at a really good price too.

what condition are your rubber brown dogs in?
if there cherry, i'll trade you for me new in box poly brown dogs.
i would prefer the rubber mounts on Diane's rig.

I was looking into this after the last time I went out I came back to 6 loose bolts.

I do not have an Atlas, but I do not see why using at least the blue lock tite wold hurt anything.
Just curious, are you going to clock it up/flat or "stock" clock?

I am going to put it at stock and see where it sits. With the slimmer tranny mount i hope to clock it up one setting.

Tried to get it up there tonight but the cat is to far centered. I need to cut it all out and i will replace it with 2.5" from the down pipe back

Well this is snow balling. Swapped in the rubicon express tb bracket and the angle is off to get the joint in there. It has rubber on both ends so i hope to go to a flex or hiem joint to fix this.

Do you want that bracket back you gave me since it
Fit and you can modify this one to wccept your cross brace ? Then ill take yours then i wont be chopping this one up. Just an idea

Yeah probably. I think i need help getting the atlas up there too. Once i get the exhaust cut out.

Dude im there. Lets just plan a time. You have to cut the exhaust?
