good evening.
Seeing how there are multiple places to post as a new member I thought I'd post here as well.
It's like working for the Department of Redundancy Department.
Reminds me of when I sent my dog to "Guard Dog Training School, the School of Guard Dog Training".
Actually, someone else has the dogs now but I have "Stubby" the cat.
So I got that goin' for me.
I have a 2000 XJ Ltd, all I've done is put new tires on it, 245/70's.
Actually not true, removed factory sound yesterday and had Sirius radio/cd head and 4 spkrs put in. Cool.
Made my first trip into the hills this morning, about 30 miles out of Yakima.
Headed-out 410 towards Chinook Pass, it's closed and I know it but has very limited traffic, nice and quiet. I cruised along the Naches and Little Naches river for possible fishing spots in the future. Took a couple of fire service roads and got into mondo snow. Cool. I mean YIKES!
Upon getting "almost" stuck over and over with monotonous regularity....
I figured out some stuff.
List of things I figured out: take a shovel, don't wear tennis shoes, don't be too bold when going alone without a winch or any recovery apparatus, don't be afraid to stop and relax to gather yourself and well...relax. I backed down about 3 miles at amazingly slow speeds, every turn the next heart-pounder. It was sooooooo bitchen!
List of things I haven't figured-out: why they allowed free-agency to ruin baseball; why I didn't take that gal up on her offer to go with me when I picked up a cup of mud at the local Starbucks this morning (would have been important to share body heat upon being stranded), and why "slim chance" and "fat chance" mean the same thing.
Oh well, I got a sticker in the mail so I guess I'm in.
Have fun, relax, stay focused.
