Was going to run a waggy 44 i had under the front but decided to go with a toy under the front since i already have a 3rd gen toy rear axle under the back.. The steering is marlin crawler high steer arms, 7/8's heims, 1.75 .250wall dom draglink and tierod. The brakes are tacoma rotors fitted over turned down ifs hubs and ifs calipers. Shafts willl be 30 spline longfields with longfield drive flanges. I have not yet decided on gears but it probably will be a high pinion, cryo treated 5.29's, full detroit and just regear the rear to 5.29's.
Started off with a early 80's toy front.

Cut all the brackets off, cleaned it up and started the process of making it a ds drop by rotating the front cover 180deg.

Added some diff armor and plated the bottom of the housing with 1/4" plate tieing it into the diff armor.

Next was adding all the link brackets, truss and turning the knuckles 180deg since the housing was flipped upside down to make it ds drop.

To get the width to match the rear axle (60"), i used ifs hubs that i turned down the o.d. of so that the tacoma rotors would slip over the hubs.

Ive been wondering if anyones ran yota running gear and here it is lol looks great man

Thanks. If it was a driver drop to begin with it would probably be used alot. A complete front axle can be picked up for 250-300, tons of aftermarket support and pretty cheap to upgrade parts on it.

so flippen sweet. and yes aftermarket on yota axles are virtually infinate. While hp is way cooler, Why not make the front lp so you can carry one spare third to drop in if you ever break?

Did you just re-drill drive flanges to match jeep driveshafts?

Ill probably just go lp because i have a couple v6 thirds in the shop and 5.29's for lp toy thirds. Spicer makes a 1310 to toyota pattern flange.

third gen v6 rear end, and a straight front will be nice to see behind a 4.0. Dont get to see this all the time. 30 spline and 8" r&p is very nice. Shoot, a 30 spline d30 would be very pricey.
that 30 you had held up to everything though, but this is even better. very jealous of 5.29s and just being able to swap thirds . I see yota thirds geared and locked all the time for cheap on CL. Quite jelly. so the next step is 42 iroks?

The 30 spline longs and drive flanges are only 750.00. I was thinking of going to 42's but will probably stay with the 39" iroks unless i find a deal on some 40" mtr's
