about going. Haven't really made any plans and was wondering if I just drove out there are there campsites/ camping that can be found or would I need to reserve something. Wouldn't be the first time I use the XJ Tent and sleep in the back if I'm too late for plans.

A long shot but, anyone heading from Fort Collins, CO?

reserve a camp spot at slickrock if you're going for the big shinding :). They still got spots left, and if you end up having to cancel, it costs you only $5 to do so...

There's plenty of camping in and around Moab. You won't have a problem. All the happenings are at Slickrock though.

It's all a moot point! I don't contemplate long with ideas ACTION!ACTION! - Made reservations to stay at slickrock Thursday and Friday night. Will likely leave Fort Collins on Wednesday Morning and stay somewhere in between Wed. night and the same Saturday night. See everyone there!

I'd still put my $$ on the wrap :) does the noise ever occur when you start from stop? if so you might want someone looking at your diff as you accelerate....

Was wondering if anyone could report Tcase damage on previous years moab events. I don't mean from a rock hitting them. I mean from the guy in the drivers seat mashin the gas at the wrong time.

Reason I ask is I tend to use the right foot quite heavily sometimes and I am wondering if I should bring my spare Tcase.

I have never had a problem with it but my jeep has gained 6,075 beef points and the Tcase was not one.

Thankyou for any info!

if you're hard enough on the rig that it concerns YOU.... i think you should either bring a spare, or wear a lighter right shoe to Moab..

The beauty of Moab lies in the fact that you don't need that lead weight in your right shoe. Only you can make the call if you're going to need a spare case or not. You can always bring it and if someone else blows up, you're the new Johnny on the Spot.

Just don't try Double Whammy! :D

Two XJ t-cases blown up there on the same day last year. Moab has a lot of traction, with some very steep steps and climbs......not a good combination for a throttle jockey. Bring the t-case. :) :)

sorry I did not read this post before today. There are a couple of us going from Ft Collins. jon Jacobs and I will be heading out most likely on saturday afternoon so we can meet with Wrong Ton for the Rd 21 trail.

I always operate under the assumption that if you have the spare parts to fix a problem, you are 50% less likely to break that part. If you do not have a spare part then you are 2x as likely to break that part. therefore I carry every spare I can fit in my rig.

{That's why we have that big 'cargo' area in the back.....}

So, if I bring a spare XJ I should be set then eh?

.....Wait a min... I do have a spare XJ, too bad its stock axles with a 4.5 inch lift, Leather, and a mint body, hey anyone wanna buy an XJ? heh.

Selling it for money for the Moab!
