Naxja Forum Performance

<rant> What is up with the performance of the Naxja forums? Is this a cheap hosting provider issue, or an admin issue? I've been told that dues go to pay someone to operate this thing full time, and well.... I'm having to hit refresh lately as there are database connection issues. I'm suspecting differences in apache configs vs mysql max connnection settings, but what do I know, I've only been doing this stuff for the better part of 20 years. All the guys I wheel with have the same complaints about the forums, yet for whatever reason performance of the forums has been pretty much the same not available, slow loading, etc. Anyone care to comment? I kick in more than my fair share in dues and donations, and all I want is to be able to web wheel without a refresh button. Maybe I should go to the mall or something in the grocery getter, sheesh... </rant>

This has been beaten pretty hard in the member's forum, and according to those in charge, the issue is non-existant. Good luck getting anywhere with this. I have had to refresh 15 times in last 20 minutes (as of 8:41 pm mountain time 05/07/07) just to get this far. Hopefully if enough people pile on, this issue can get resolved.

goto http://network-tools.com/ Select trace and put in www.naxja.org in the box. I cut and paste the results but it screws up the formatting, making it hard to read the contents. I hit refresh a few times and would get a timeout failure.

If the trace does not show a timeout, it is of little value. Hit refresh a few times until the timeout occurs, then cut and past the results.

This irriatates the piss out of me. I really love my :: and want to cry when trying to use it lately. It shouldn't take people doing traces to get their attention. I refreshed 8x atleast to get to this thread. Theres to many people for this forum's server. Whats $20 more per year just to run this site faster. I mean it's only one member's worth of dues. Myself not being a member I shouldn't complain. I appreciate everyone who runs/operates/uses this forum.
