N. Georgia camping anyone? Weekend of Sept 11th.

Would you need a modified Jeep to get to the location or would a stocker make it?

Nope, I will be pulling my camper with my DD. Just has about 3 inches of lift and all terrain tires.

Hope you can come down Mark, itll be a good time..

I'd be all over this if I didn't have a broken wife. I need a getaway!

I'd go if it wasn't for the Grayrock ride that weekend, although it's not even close to fall yet.

How do you figure? Fall starts on September 23rd. 14 days from this trip... ok, we will call it the "Pre-Fall" camping trip.

Eitherway, there will be plenty more times. Hope yall have fun wheeling.

Well I kind of meant it in the way that it still stays hot and the leaves don't change for a while, other than that you're right about the date.

Hope ya'll have fun out there!!!

yeah, im hoping the temps will drop about 30 degrees between now and then... It wont happen, but it sure would be nice. Although, it is typically much cooler up in the hills, especially at night.

probably going up to around this area, unless I get more Tenn Folks saying they want to go, then I will go closer to Tenn. This is a nice area, and we have done a little wheeling up there on some rough NFS roads.

This is a campground, I will likely stay on a dispersed (free) site, but the pictures give you an idea of what the area looks like.

Of course, there is always Jones Creek too...

Would a small pop-up be ok? The wife's DD is all stock. I wouldn't be doing any wheeling but just hanging out would be fun.

I dont plan on wheeling either Mark, my popup works great! I dont wheel my DD. To give you an example, one of the guys last year made it out there in a Camry. There are two very shallow creek crossings, but they have concrete bottoms. You will have zeros problems getting there. Your trailer would be perfect. I think we should try to plan for Jones Creek as a primary, then have a backup plan if its full.

You gonna make it out??? It the same place we have the Country Fried Weekend every year, right on an awesome little creek. Kick back and relax type of thing, camp fire, few adult beverages... that sort of thing. It should be in the upper 50's lower 60's at night up there. Low 80's during the day. Plenty of shade and a COLD stream.

Sounds good. I'm trying to talk the wife into it. Of course we have to find someplace other than the dumpster for the kids to go. If that works out, yep, we're there.

Damn you. Quit this teasing. This is so my kind of fun. So torn. I need to get out and meet some forum peeps too. In the years I've been on the board, I've never met one.

Well... I wont be going camping next weekend guys.

Had a family emergency come up... My mother-in-law is having a large brain tumor removed on Friday. No, really.

Didnt find out about it till Tuesday.

Will plan something else in a few weeks once things are back to 'normal'

I hate to hear that. Hope everything turns out ok for the MIL. We'll keep her in our prayers.
