My new XJ

yep, ive had one for awhile now. if you look at the axle pics you'll see the 44 is passenger side drop, so the 300 works out great for that.
correct... came out of a 3/4ton chevy truck. what made you decide not to opt for the d60?

i will be going with a 60 later...for right now im sticking with 37's and the 44. i go to the jeep jamboree and they limit ur tire size to 37's. eventually ill get a 60, build it up, then swap it in...but im in no rush, so i can take my time and find a good deal on one.

well, got the first set of parts in from Ruffstuff:

14 bolt disc brake brackets, ridiculously heavy duty cover, and spring perches. still waiting on the u-bolts, u-bolt plates, and pinion guard.

any plans to shave that rear end? you will be dragging that thing everywhere with just 37s.

at least cut the bottom two bolts off.....

looks like your headed in the right direction though! good luck!

yes, but i dont see that being much of a problem. i dragged a bit with the 8.8...you just have to account for it when you pick ur line.

ok...ground clearance under diff with an 8.8 on 33's is about 10" (old setup). ground clearance under diff of 14 bolt on 37's with a simple shave is about 10.5". do the math.

with a ring gear shave and a diff shave you can gain almost 2 inches of ground clearance.

you will love those wheels... the worst part about them though is the shear weight..... its alot of force and weight for that d44 your gonna use..... but they are pure beef

nice find on the 12bolt version.... much stronger than the 6 bolt.

i also picked up a set of these wheels...

will do a weld on beadlock kit when i switch to 40's (end of the year or so), that'll cut down on weight

actually youd be surprised it prob would weigh the same.

so with the white wagon wheels are you going to run two different wheels/tires combo?

basically im using the 37's to get everything on my jeep set the way i want, since i got them so cheap. later on down the road im going to get a dana 60, and build it up to handle 40's. then ill swap that in, and switch to the white wheels w/ 40" super swampers. also, i go to the jeep jambo, and they limit you to 37" tires, so ill still be able to go.
