My First XJ Build

so i have been wanting to replace my rockers for a while. anyone have have links to some good write ups?

There are a few up right not in mod tech. Ive been looking to do that and frame stiffies as my next winter projects. There is a "what would you differently" thread as well with a lot of good info. I also used my Google fu and there are a ton of write ups out there. Many different ways to skin this cat for sure.

ordered the clayton tranny x member/3 link mount a few days ago. it should be here in a couple days. gunna be using the RE y-links that i bought off of chris until i can build my own 3 link out of them.

i also bought from chris an aussie locker for my d30 and a C8.25. pretty stoked on those.

tomorrow is payday so ill be ordering the serious offroad products 1 ton steering kit. instead of using the inserts ill be taking my knuckles and pitman arm off and bring them to a local 4x4 shop that my dad is long time friends with and he will ream the knuckles for me to accept the GM 1 ton TREs.

links to new parts if people were wondering

What are you going to do for trackbar mount and modified/new trackbar with the OTK steering?

I am in the middle of doing this right now. It's a lot of work and lots of ways to go about it. Some more work some less, all with their pros and cons.

I wanted to keep my stock seats and stuff so I am following more what eric did but I am adding my legs through the floor directly to the 2x6.

Nice. Cutting the lca mounts off the heep is the most fun of a long arm swap. Not!

so does that X member only utilize the 2 factory x member holes and thats it? not even the third hole up front that can be tapped? id personally want more than that holding my arms to the XJ if thats the case. does it have through frame mounts ? DO you weld the 2 outside bolt on brackets to the frame? its a 3 link only right?

Yes just the 2 holes, I think I want to drill a 3rd though. Shouldn't be too hard. You don't weld them on but I don't see any reason why you couldn't. And no, not only 3 link. I'll be using my RE long arms on them until a build a 3 link.

ok. on their website they say you can weld them to the frame rails and then just remove the middle portion, at least thats what I took from it.

Yeah I just read it too. I will probably do that after I get frame siffeners
