Ok well it has started. Jeepdog1 and I both needed mounting plates for our bumpers so we got together and started getting what we needed done. I haven't got too far along just yet but I should be done by tomorrow.
Every great idea has to start somewhere.
The mounting plates are made from 1/4" plate steel and we tried this set up first but the Compressor wouldn't hold a constant 60 psi for the plasma cutter to run correctly.
So we went to a buddies shot where he had this set up.
Well we had problems there also. His hundred of feet of air lines had too much water in them so it kept putting out the plasma. We tried what we could to get most of it out but it still didn't work. So we went to plan B... Use the big a$$ band saw he had. I didn't get any picutes of Chris (jeepdog1) cutting the plate. I thought I did but they didn't come out right. Well when he got done cutting out the first 2 basic shapes we needed I moved onto this:
I know the set up looks kinda funny but HEY IT WORKED!
And after about 2 hours of Chris cutting and me drilling the holes I ended up with this:
I drilled the holes out to a 1/4" to start with. I was more worried about "where the holes were" than I was "how big the holes were"
I know.. I know.. That's what she said!
But so far so good. I will be working on it more today and should post up more pics tonight.
