My bumper build..

Re: My bumber build..

Looks good! Now, kill the fake spider. :D

No. There is a prize of a NAXJA RRC windshield banner for the person who finds its brother out at Gilmer. I lost it there in Nov.

Looks good. I would recommend getting rid of the tow hooks...

I will as soon as I get done with the D-ring part of my bumPer.

Re: My bumber build..

Yes you will... I will bring it to you there.

Well I got some more done... Too tired to describe everything. Besides the plate across the front that I need and the D-rings tabs its done. So for the time being I am going to paint and mount it onto the XJ. I can finish eveything else with it on. So here you go, more pictures:

I even had time to weld up my quick discos so they won't rattle so bad.

Are you going to weld the center two square tubes together and grind it flat? And how do you plan doing the Dring mounts?
Looks really good yet simple

No the two cross bars and stitched welded 3 on top and 4 on bottom staggered. I am going to plate the top of it, not sure with what but I was thinking diamond plate that will be painted black to match the rear quarter guards.

The D ring tabs will on the front where the squares are sticking out. I am waiting on jeepdog1 to get back in town before I can finish those... He took off with the steel tabs I need to finish it. I will take pictures of those as I do them.

I think I might build one of these for our next raffle... Not this year for RoM but the next time we plan on having one.

I got the plate steel as payment for storage. The 2x2 sq. tubing was left overs from when I made my rock sliders. I payed around $125 (over guessing, its been awhile) for 20 ft of 1.5"x1.5" sq tubing and 24 ft of 2"x2". So I payed around $125 for rock sliders and a front bumper. Not bad I think.

You should build me some sliders. :)

Buy the steel and I will with your help. We could do it in a weekend.

So you're taking detailed notes on length's, angles, etc for those of us that just want to copy your design? Better yet, you'll have your buddy's shop sell the steel in pre-cut sizes?

Yes I have all the angles and lenghts. And no my buddy didn't do a thing nor does he have the spec's for my bumper. I just went there to do what I needed to do. I cut all the steel, besides the plate steel, jeepnooob1 did that.

slider for ian? you need enough motor and gears to drag that thing along before you add more weight!!!!!!!!

That "thing" followed you everywhere without effort didn't it? :roflmao:

Let me clue you in on something man, it's not about how fast the XJ can go.

And it doesn't even matter about HP. Its all about torque and your gearing.

Ah younglings have so much to learn.
