Well atleast its photogenic haha Don't waste all that dough on the teraflex kit. You can modify Grand Cherokee ZJ rear discs to work and you will still have Jeep parts on your rig. I am in the process of doing this myself and I have less than $100 bucks in it so far and I have calipers, caliper brackets, backing plates, and I even got lucky and scored a good set of rotors and pads with them (I know don't use used rotors and pads but this Jeep looked fresh to the JY and the brakes look like they literally had been there maybe 2 weeks before the Jeep was junked). I live in Dawsonville and could help you out.

another option is swap in a 8.8 rear axle from a ford explorer, 95+ have good disc brakes. if you plan on going bigger tires in the future it might be a good idea.

Looks great! Love the urban safari look (always have...part of me kind of misses the stock wheel and bigger tire set up).

Thanks! Yeah I think I'm going to stick with stock wheels for as long as I can...too many people have Cragar's and the like! I need to get some spacers though!

Then go with the ZJ brake conversion it is a near direct bolt on for the chrysler 8.25 and Dana 35 rear axles. Me and my cousin are going to a JY to a Pull-a-part in Norcross on sunday to pull him some brakes from a ZJ to do the same thing and you are more than welcome to tag along and we can help you pull some for yourself.

Thanks for the offer, I'll think about it! My Dad technically owns the Jeep, so he has some say as to what I do to it, and I know he'd be more keen on having brand new parts for the rear brakes...

Well I can come and let him try out my used parts when I am done and he can see what he thinks haha keep in mind the only things used would be the calipers and the caliper brackets. The brackets are cast steel so kinda hard for that to go bad and the calipers can be used to turn in as cores when buying new calipers which are between $30-$40. The Teraflex kit uses Ford parts and it wouldn't surprise me if some are just re-manufactured parts so technically used parts still just in a new condition. Anyways just trying to help you save some money. My dad used to own my Jeep and was skeptical about things I did to it but eventually he realized I know what I am doing and quit being concerned about it haha

I know where you're coming from. He said we're going to find out the final price of everything I want to do to it, then go from there. ZJ brakes might be in my future, we'll see!

Why? Just to get the wheels to stick out a bit more or are you trying to get them off the control arms during full lock turns? If you're just trying to get them off the LCA's, space out your steering stops with washers. Takes all of 2 minutes and costs nothing!

I've heard about that mod but I don't necessarily want to cut into my turning radius if you know what I mean...spacers will make it a little wider too for a tad bit of stability.

Understandable, but the difference in turning radius is barely even noticeable. I thought about getting a set of arms like Rusty's way back when I was still on stock wheels. But the thought of $0.05 worth of washers quickly won that argument.

Well, weekends at school don't allow much access to tools, so I have to improve on what I can! I decided to eliminate the last bit of "shiny" on the XJ, so I rattle-can bedlined my top two light guards!

The stuff isn't bad for $4.50 a can!
 
Alright guys, a couple of questions:

1. Occasionally when I drive, afterward I notice a small amount of water/fluid in my passenger side floor pan. Today there was some there and I looked up under the dash with a flashlight and didn't see any wet spots. Any ideas?

2. I think my shocks might need replacing since first, they seem to be pretty cheapo ones (I think they're RC but they don't even have a brand stamped on them) and second, I'm pretty sure I can get a little bit of a smoother ride. Any recommendations as far as shocks go that aren't crazy expensive?

3. I've read that Champion 7034 spark plugs work excellently with the DIS, have you heard anything similar or opposite?

4. My front tires have developed a sort of "cupping" on the treads. They are Firestone Destination M/T's. It's only on the fronts though. Some of the treads are worn flat like they should be, but some are more slanted. I can take a picture if that would help. Could this have to do with the ball joints?
