Question - Is downloading music really illegal? For the past couple of years, I've been using Itunes.com to buy and download music for my Ipod. But paying over $1 per song seems to be getting old, specifically when I can get the same music elsewhere for free. The truth is, Im not even sure if its really "illegal" to use Free Mp3 Download sites to get music. I mean its not like I'm stealing anything when downloading. I mean if a website publishes music, irregardless if its Itunes.com, Amazon.com (or the sites I will post below), then I should be able to download. If one site charges money and the other gives it away for free, then why should I be legally responsible? What I mean is take a look at one of these sites: Mooza MP3 & Video Search MP3Items - MP3 Downloads IpodKid.com - MP3 Downloads eSpew.com - MP3 Search Engine Even Altavista and Lycos have music search engines. So why should I have to pay for music when I can get it for free? Recently, I used Mooza.com to create a flash music playlist that I posted in my Myspace profile. Can I get into trouble for this? Mods - Please note that Im new so if this is posted in the wrong place, I sincerly apologize.
