Moving to Topeka, KS

Daily Driving... maybe, just due to road manners

If you are registered out of state, just make sure the VIN on the dash/door matches the title and you are golden for registration. That is the first and last time anybody will ever 'inspect' your rig.

KS really doesn't give a rip what you do to the rig. However, headlights should be no higher than 54" (no lower than 24"), and the taillamps can't reach higher than 72" (or below 15"). Reflectors must be present front and rear (out back they can be incorporated into the light or stand alone) and can't be higher than 60" or lower than 15".

KS does have a mirror law; one on the outside and one in the center. I have run long distances with no outside mirrors and never been stopped. I also have a motorcycle mirror I can stick on the driver side (I actually like to use it). Granted this is on my TJ.

Cool thanks for info everyone :). I hope to meet some of u all soon. Starting move at worst time in December so its coming up soon...hope i can find job too :).

Do you all get together and do meet and greets and such? If so when and where do you normally do them?

we have had a few M&G in KC and one was a wheeling M&G at Tuttle Creek a few years back. I would be game for traveling down to KC for another M&G if we had enough people want to get together. It is a 3 hour drive for me, so it will take a little planning. maybe after Christmas we all could get together?

I need to make it down to that. We (the MWC) donated $1000 to KS Rocks last year and I have only wheeled there once. What sucks is that Winterfest is the begining of March and I can usually only swing one trip that close to after Christmas if wheeling is involved.

Kansas Rocks is a great park. Trails for all levels of rigs/experience. I hear ya about limiting your trips. Money isn't exactly falling out of my pockets either.

And if it was I'd be following you around like a lost puppy. I'd be down for a M&G. A couple years ago I tried to get one together at KS Rocks nobody showed up or even showed any real intrest. I did have a good time at the one at Red Robin a few years ago. And we had a good turnout at that one.

Hey all i am now in Topeka, KS. I had to sell my XJ :(. I do have wife's YJ though, and like some of you my funds are tight. Would love to hook up for a M&G and KS Rocks, Tuttle Creek etc sounds interesting and fun too! I also like to fish/hunt etc too and would be good to meet some new friends :). Been 7 years since i last lived here and people i knew here are hit and miss it seems.

You should take a trip to frostbite at KS Rocks in Feb. It's a blast and you get to wheel with a ton of great people.

Sounds fun! Is there a thread on this yet? :)

I don't have it up yet. They may have some info on it at www.ksrockspark.com. Frostbite is in it's 8th or 9th year and it's the biggest event KS Rocks does. It's the last weekend in Febuary. I'll be there but I'll be working the event so I wont get to do any wheeling.
