I'm just up the road in Leavenworth. Parakeet...whats up man? Just put some 33's on the rig. now its time to start looking for a new rear axle.
Daily Driving... maybe, just due to road manners
If you are registered out of state, just make sure the VIN on the dash/door matches the title and you are golden for registration. That is the first and last time anybody will ever 'inspect' your rig.
KS really doesn't give a rip what you do to the rig. However, headlights should be no higher than 54" (no lower than 24"), and the taillamps can't reach higher than 72" (or below 15"). Reflectors must be present front and rear (out back they can be incorporated into the light or stand alone) and can't be higher than 60" or lower than 15".
KS does have a mirror law; one on the outside and one in the center. I have run long distances with no outside mirrors and never been stopped. I also have a motorcycle mirror I can stick on the driver side (I actually like to use it). Granted this is on my TJ.
Kansas Rocks is a great park. Trails for all levels of rigs/experience. I hear ya about limiting your trips. Money isn't exactly falling out of my pockets either.
You should take a trip to frostbite at KS Rocks in Feb. It's a blast and you get to wheel with a ton of great people.

I don't have it up yet. They may have some info on it at www.ksrockspark.com. Frostbite is in it's 8th or 9th year and it's the biggest event KS Rocks does. It's the last weekend in Febuary. I'll be there but I'll be working the event so I wont get to do any wheeling.
